Getting desperate - need a breastfeeding suitable dress for a christening

Hi, I'm looking for an occasion dress that one can 'whap a bap' out of to breastfeed my 6 month old DS.

I'm 5'10", so no maxi dresses or jumpsuits please (they're never long enough). I'm a tall, curvy postpartum size 16-20 (depending on the shop's sizing). Because of this I prefer patterns to block colours, but I'm really struggling to find something that wouldn't be a mini-dress on me. Wrap dresses are usually my friend.

I lay myself at your mercy, otherwise I'll end up wearing something I'd just wear to work and regretting it whenever looking at the pics!

Are you on the "can I breastfeed in this?" Facebook page?

BumblesnuffCustardbath · 29/07/2018 21:20

Thanks for the suggestion, but yes I am a member. However, I just seem to see a lot of short skirts and jumpsuits. I'm not confident enough about my thighs to be flashing them at the front of a church!

No maxi dresses
No short skirts

So... you want a midi dress? Below the knee?

pastabest · 29/07/2018 21:51

Dorothy Perkins has a few wrap dresses on the website at the moment.

Rednaxela - midi or knee length, but being so tall makes that harder.

Pastabest- thanks, I'll look into it!

I was in mama Bebe today and they had a couple of baptism appropriate dresses which were discounted.

This one was $45 which is about £30. With the right shoes it could be dressed up.

Have you checked out ASOS Tall?

Ticks a lot of those boxes?

How about this one from Monsoon (model is 5'9)

dinodiva · 30/07/2018 06:45

Monsoon have some dresses which button up the front or wrap at the top that might work. I haven’t been in there in years but have been quite pleasantly surprised by their clothes this year.

imsorryiasked · 30/07/2018 06:49

Or this one from Long Tall Sally?

I just got everyone sorted out this morning and checked on the thread, thank you so much to everyone for replying! So many lovely options!

I'm loving the one from LTS (even though I'm still annoyed with them for closing so many stores), it's closest to one I loved but don't fit into - www.shein.co.uk/Floral-Print-Knot-Waist-Surplice-Wrap-Dress-p-480041-cat-1727.html

I also stumbled across this DP one during the 4am night feed, which looks stretchy enough to pull down to feed: m.dorothyperkins.com/en/dpuk/product/dresses-5699972/womens-dresses-5686813/tall-blush-floral-print-shirred-midi-skater-dress-7827646

I'll be able to pop into town on Tuesday so will try to wangle the pushchair into some changing rooms!
