Hi all,
I rarely ever paint my nails. Buffing, makes them paper thin.
Looking at others beautifully painted finger
And toe nails I feel so ugly. Please can you suggest cuticle oil, top and base coat..n i will try to make my nails look bearable.

My nails are irredeemable, and I've tried all sorts. I have found that Burts Bees Cuticle cream helps, or Almond solar oil for nail condition. I've tried Opi Nail Envy, Sally Hansen nail conditioning varnish and Miracle Cure, Mavala, and Nailtique. Nothing has worked, my nails still break or shred. The only thing which allows them to grow is shellac but then when it is removed they snap again. Not that helpful but let me know if you find something decent!

Definitely seche vite tip coat- lasts for ever. Try and find a strengthening base coat - loads on the market.

If you have very bad condition you might be best off keeping them bare and having a mani once a month to keep them neat and nicely shaped.

Painting will not help the condition at all.

I’m a convert to CND solar oil. If your nails are thin, I’d try CND Rescue RXx - you can get a 3.7ml sample bottle from nail polish direct - if you go through their eBay page you get free postage, so it’s only £2.99 to give it a go. I ordered some to see if a keratin treatment would work for mine - they keep splitting - it arrived yesterday and they already feel improved from 3 applications.

Sorry for sounding like a CND employee but I’ve tried loads of treatments from boots over the years and so far I’ve been very impressed by their products.

Another Seche Vite topcoat fan here, it really is amazing!

I use Orly Bonder rubberised basecoat and Dadi cuticle oil as well.
