Linen trousers.... waistband or tie thingy?

I've always fancied some linen trousers, but never found any long enough for me till now.

But does anyone think the waistband is 'wrong'? Are the tie ones more stylish?

And should they be long enough to lie in gathers on top of the foot, or should they be a bit cropped looking?

No! The tie ones are much less flattering imo. Too much fabric at the front making your tummy look bigger. I think those look lovely

Toses look lovely, smarter than lounge around at home tie ones.

What about length? Long and drapey over the feet, or short and a bit croppy round the ankles?

Don't get them too short - if you want cropped trousers, buy cropped trousers. Also - what sort of shoes will you be wearingn them with? Heels or flats? Makes a difference to the length you need.

I thought flat shoes... ballet type ones or smartish leather sandals.

I think they need to be not quite touching the floor then (obviously you don't want them dragging along the ground getting dirty).

Think I need to go to the shop and try them on TBH. Risky to buy on-line. Nearest shop is 1 and half hours of driving though
