What top to wear with palazzo trousers?

I bought a pair of black with white spots palazzo trousers. They're comfortable and quite flattering (I'm a pear) but I can't work out what top to wear.
I tried going for effortless cool and put a loose white linen tshirt on with it but my husband rightly pointed out that I looked like I was wearing pyjamas.
I assume i need a tighter top but I think a best top would look like pjs too?

Does anyone have any ideas?

You just need to tuck your tshirts in.

I’m wearing mine with a shell top style sleeveless shirt or slouchy Milano knit top partly tucked in.

Loose palazzos need a fitted top; otherwise it becomes shapeless. The more skin (within reason), better I think. (not encouraging you to go out naked waist up though, unless you want to, you understand). I hope.

The only thing I found worked OP was a bodysuit (and believe me I never thought I'd say that since I was 13). Zara have some basic black and white ones, means no fabric gathering looking funny and better silhouette
