Best sandals for those with high arches? I don't even care how ugly they are

I need some for my holidays. Birkenstocks are ok but I get blisters if I walk too far in them.

I think I need sports sandals. I think I really need good arch support to help my knees. Can anyone recommend some? Looks are secondary, comfort is paramount.

Thanks.

I have high arches and find Birkenstocks really comfortable.

ditto, but sports sandals are more adjustable. If birkies give you blisters they're either too loose or not broken in properly.

there are some nicer sports sandals at rather good prices here

The Birkenstocks are pretty old and well worn in but blisters have started this summer. They may have loosened, of course.

I've looked at the Tevas - will look again, thanks. I wondered if anyone had found any other ones with really high arch support. I've a ludicrously high instep which is having a knock-on effect on my knees.

Try Mephisto Helens. A bit like Birkenstocks but they suit my high arches much better and are very supportive, I've done many city breaks in them.

Thanks - will take a look at those.

I swear by fitflops for high arch support. I've got several pairs of shoes and trainers which I can walk in for miles without crippling pain or having to break in.

My Pilates teacher who is always going on about women needing arch support swears by Fit Flops. I was cynical but they have some really lovely styles and look ace!

Another vote for Tevas. I wear them right through the year!

birkenstocks. Maybe try a different style, and you do have to replace them every couple of years

Oxygen shoes also have good support. Have had some lovely pairs, flats and wedges both comfy.
