What is everyone in their 30's, a size 18 and on a budget wearing?

List as the title says really.
I'm a size 18 and it's all on my stomach (42inch waist 😔)
I prefer online shopping but I'm on a budget.
I have no clue when it comes to putting outfits together.

What are you wearing and where do you shop?

I like wide leg jeans (despite others not liking them!) from simply be. Tops I struggle with but try to go for something longer/loose fitting, with a sleeve of some kind.

DepressedFatTired · 26/07/2018 23:42

I used to love my wide leg jeans and I completely forgot until now. My skinny jeans make me look stumpy. Being fat and 5ft3 doesn't help.
I might go on the hunt for some more.

Sainsbury’s

Long tops and leggings

Dresses

High waist jeans

Catbot · 27/07/2018 07:42

Peacocks were selling short leggings (as in shorts length). I've been wearing those under sleeveless tunics and dresses. Next do some really nice linen dresses for £26. Lots of different colours

I'm short and round too Grin

dontknowwhattodo80 · 27/07/2018 07:58

I like the ASOS curve/plus size range for nicer bits. George or TU for basics

DepressedFatTired · 27/07/2018 19:14

Thank you everyone, I never think of Simply Be so those links are really helpful @whattimeislove.

@Catbot how do those dresses sit if you have a belly?

I'm wearing cropped boyfriend jeans from the Very curve range with Primark sleeveless tops (the sports rather than skinny strapped ones).

I've also bought a couple of elasticated waist tea length skirts which I wear with tshirts in a French tuck (tucked in at the front).

I've just had a couple of bits from SHEIN delivered and one of the dresses is unbelievably flattering, they have a good range of plus sized bits.

Catbot · 28/07/2018 09:28

DepressedFatTired They look great on a belly! I'm shorter than you and weigh more than my husband Blush so you can imagine how big my belly might be. They 'give' with a bit of wear so kind of shape themselves to you. I have four!

Don't be so hard on yourself lovey, you sound

Catbot · 28/07/2018 09:29

Sorry, posted too soon...

You sound quite down in the dumps?

DepressedFatTired · 28/07/2018 15:12

I am quite down at the moment. I struggle with summer dressing and my self esteem was low anyway.

I want someone to come shopping with me and dress me Grin

I’m a 16/18 and 43 soba bit older but same age range for clothes I guess? I’ve just bought some girlfriend jeans from Sainsbury’s which I love, such a good shape on me and so much more comfortable than skinnies. I’m wearing a few Monsoon linen mix tees with them. Dresses I’m liking a couple of linen A-line ones from Next and Sainsbury’s and a jersey draw waist from Dorothy Perkins. Also from Wallis some linen mix peg trousers

Mamaohana · 28/07/2018 18:46

Dorothy Perkins has loads of good summer clothes in larger sizes. Really good value too. I prefer to order off their website rather than in store as they seem to have much more choice.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 28/07/2018 19:08

I am a bit bigger than you but have had lots of lvely stuff from SHEIN online, takes an age to come butmost has been lovely. Just bought a polka dot jumpsuit from them and 4 different people stopped to tell me how lovely I looked when I wore it -they may have had a few drinks but hey ho a compliment is a compliment-

EnglishGirlApproximately · 29/07/2018 00:03

stepaway I’ve just looked at Shein for the first time and I’ve spent £80! I’m blaming you WinkGrin

slithytove · 29/07/2018 00:13

I have about 6 of those next dresses - so easy to wear
They come up a little small in some colours

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 29/07/2018 22:41

EnglishGirlApproximately oh dear be warned it can be addictive....so cheap until you fill your basket Grin

EnglishGirlApproximately · 30/07/2018 09:19

stepaway I know, I was happily clicking away thinking ‘ooh it’s only £8!’ and before I knew it I’d spent loads Hmm

MistressDeeCee · 30/07/2018 09:28

I've got a belly. Skater dresses are my friend. High waisted jeans and trousers suit me too. & I tend to wear tips that sit on my hips, shorter tops are unflattering.

As you said you're on a budget OP, Select Fashion is good for nice dresses in decent material. I discovered this when browsing there recently by chance, wish I'd gone in years ago. Also Sainsburys TU clothing range is nice.

Pinkkahori · 30/07/2018 16:27

I bought a jersey midi dress from Dorothy Perkins that I've worn loads this summer. I'm size 18 and 5'2 and avoided the midi style for ages but it's actually quite comfortable and flattering.
I was always a big fan of leggings and a tunic but this year they are making me feel huge for some reason.
