Hi all
Which style are most comfortable? I get a lot of hip pain (arthritis) and plantar fasciitis. My feet aren't particularly wide, but they are not narrow at all. Normal. I think.

Definitely Mayari

You’ll prob need to size down if you’re in between sizes. I bought my first ever pair from the Birkenstock shop and they explained that there is supposed to be a bit of space at either end and sides, so they dont need to fit too snugly.

Personally I prefer the hard footbed but that’s because my foot rolls in a bit on one side so I find there’s too much give for me with the soft footbed.

They do tend to get a bit smelly though. I tend to give mine a scrub with an old toothbrush and mild washing up liquid every few days or so. Has anyone found a better way?

As for cleaning I put my old Mayari in the wash g machine on a cold wash came out brilliant, also used gorilla wood glue on the Cork, helped where the Cork has split and made the rest look like new.

What are opinions on leather vs synthetic. I have synthetic mayaris and leather gizehs. I think I prefer the mayari for comfort but is it worth buying another pair for leather straps? I prefer the look of the leather ones.

I ordered these yesterday after trying them on in a shop. So much nicer in real life. I've always had Gizeh and Madrids and prefer Gizeh as the toe post holds your foot in place. I have sciatica and these help when on my feet all day...

snake black Gizeh £45

Mayari are my favourites.

I also have Gizeh which always were my favourites until I discovered Mayari) and Madrid, but find these less comfortable for walking in.

Has anyone seen any Mayaris for a decent price anywhere (ideally silver ones) ?

I have both but prefer the soft footbed. Certainly more comfortable from the start but both are fine once they adapt to your feet. This lady knows all about it and everything else concerning Birkenstocks though!
