Meadowhall - where can I get a decent bra measurement in the evening?

I normally go to John Lewis or Bravissimo in Leeds or Sheffield. I have failed to get there for the last 3 or 4 months, and now desperately need bras, but can only really do evenings.

I could get to Fox Valley on an evening too.

Can you measure yourself? Most shops do a pretty appalling job of measuring!

Blastandbollocks · 23/07/2018 18:43

Debenhams isn't too bad there. If you know how Bravissimo does it, then you can see what works and doesn't work.

Incidentally, Bravissimo in Sheffield?

Blastandbollocks · 23/07/2018 18:45

Also, if you've got a rough idea, they're very accommodating when you take in 20 bras... Blush they've got a decent larger size range.

I live in the countryside between Leeds and Sheffield, Now the school holidays are here, I won’t be able to get into either city centre for several weeks, and I am reduced to wearing sports bras to (non-sporty) work - therefore also dark tops! I tried Leeds JL in my lunchtime last week (I sometimes work in the city centre, but my job can take me to different places all the time), but i’d run out of time by the time they were ready for me.

I havn’t been measured for 2 or 3 years and feel that I am in need. I’ve also only worn the same style of bra in this time and fancy a change. I’m mindful that bra sizing can vat between styles and manufacturers or i’d go online.

Then Debenhams has the better range. Depending on your anticipated size, my friend rates Boux Avenue on the bottom level, but they're not big enough cups for me, iirc they only go to G.

Measure yourself using boob or bust then order loads of bras from brastop. They send them quickly and returns are really easy

LoniceraJaponica · 24/07/2018 07:07

Can you use the MN method to measure yourself then go to Debenhams, HOF or M and S? IMO if you know your measurements M and S have the widest range of bras. Don't bother going to Fox Valley. Debenhams is in the process of being refurbished and is a bit hit and miss at the moment.

BikeRunSki · 24/07/2018 07:23

Thanks everyone. I have n’t bought a bra from m&s for about 15 years, because their sizing used to be completely hit and miss.

I think I shall buy a cloth tape measure today and do the “boob or bust” method. We have got an old fashioned haberdashers down the road!

Anyone got a link to “boob or bust”?

I was a 34F last time, but they’re getting baggy. Don’t know if this is me, or decayed elastic though!

booborbust.com

I’ve just measured at home and ordered via Bravissimo. Bit of a gamble although I can send back I guess, but the size that came out of BOB was pretty in line with what I expected.

BikeRunSki · 24/07/2018 08:46

I found a toy tape measure and have meausured the BOB way - still 34F. I feel more confident about measuring online.

Ordering on line, not measuring!

OP posts:
BikeRunSki · 26/07/2018 18:23

I used the BOB method
I ordered from Figleaves via Quidco
Bra seems to fit and has been comfy all day (Fantasie T shirt bra)
Bingo!

Excellent! Hopefully I have just as much luck with my Bravissimo online purchase!
