I love the green Santana on you dave
cherries I actually like the cowpat shade (kakhi lover here which rhymes with cowpat) but I wasn’t in love with the style and it did look too big on you, so yes return. And the Rose jumper S looked fine too, tbh not much in between S and M sizing sometimes...do you like its soft cozy ness?

never I really like the simplicity of the black leather bag too, and the double thin handles and lining are nice design touches too. I won’t linger looking at it too long as I do NOT need a black leather handbag. Smile

I’m not even looking at the AW catalogue either! Well maybe I will later.
For now work calls over and a Hush parcel is calling me to open it pronto! Wink
Sweltering in East Anglia today and set to rise over the next days here: I have Que Será t on with hippie (market sourced, not Hush) printed green/navy blue thin cotton very voluminous harems on today.

ilovecherries · 01/08/2018 16:27

Doesn’t really feel any smarter than my gortex walking jacket - which is far too big for me, but it’s such an ugly thing anyway, that probably doesn’t matter and it just means it hangs lower on my legs Grin

Ellapaella · 01/08/2018 16:29

Btw I got a free returns label with the Caro top despite it being in the sale.

The Caro top looks ace ella..looking forward to mine arriving. Just wish it could be in here for holiday, but never mind.

Laska5772 · 01/08/2018 16:30

I like it on you.. cherries but perhaps you should try one of their Tin cloth ones or waterproof linen?

never I am currently wearing them with trainer socks (and another pair on the outside to protect soles !) .. I definitely dont need larger as length is good

Ellapaella · 01/08/2018 16:30

@ilovecherries trust me there is ventilation, it's incredibly waterproof - I have the same in black. I think it looks fab!

ella posted before seeing your pic: AMAZING on you! Love it! Love the styling with blazer/jeans combo

cherries I think the colour on the seasalt is really lovely on you, but you have to love it too...can you sit on it as maybe today is just not your day for trying on raincoats...

Laska5772 · 01/08/2018 16:33

My Seasalts havent arrived yet..

dontcallmelen · 01/08/2018 16:38

@Ella the Caro top looks lovely, hoping mine will be here tomorrow.
That’s what I was hoping to do with it style wise, that way wouldn’t be just for good weather/holidays.
@Dave the skirt looks lovely, have a fab holiday.

SoyYo · 01/08/2018 16:56

So New parcel contains replacement Rose jumper/stripy Amies so I can return the ones I paid more for last week saving me £30
Which would just about pay for this dress, same fabric as my culottes and rather shorter than I’d usually wear for work.
Styled with fabulous bargain scarf or Fitzgerald jacket it looks I think pretty good...on its own not so much but it’s a very simple shape and fluid enough to not matter it’s high neck and I’m top heavy...remember this is just for work.
Keep or Dump?
Btw totally keeping scarf!

Ah yes the Love clutch, very pretty but only beaded on one side...I think I’ll keep at sale price as I don’t own a useful summer clutch to dress up in and like the retro lettering but at full price I would have returned

laska, I think I ordered a day, maybe two before you, and I had mine sent to the parcel shop because that’s usually a day quicker - I wanted to be sure it wouldn’t fall between two addresses.

Soy, yes, I do like it very much. I’d not been planning to buy it as I already have the blue lightning bolt (worn to death) and the hibiscus star (worn a few times), but I was SO cold yesterday, that when it came down to £30 I decided I’d be as well to buy that, which I really liked, rather than a jumper out of Tesco just because I was cold. It is fitting a little neater than the mediums but I don’t think it’s too small. Don’t know what i wa# thinking about when I ordered it, must just have been a slip of the finger.

Dave, I have a tiny rub on my Santana where some random kid chucked his anorak on the bench beside me at the park, and it was snared by the Velcro, but otherwise it’s been fairly robust and I’ve worn it 6-8 times. Have a lovely holiday, I’m off to menorca in three weeks.

Ella, the coat might be growing on me. Just wasn’t what I expected, but I’m sure it was a different coat altogether that I’ve had in my mind. That was the 10 in the picture. I think I said to Laska that I’d ordered 12 and 14, but it was actually 10 and 12 - which was deliberate, not another mistake. Im wondering if I should keep the bigger one though. But I am still losing weight, just very slowly now.

ilovecherries · 01/08/2018 17:07

I am currently wearing my scarf, soy. I liked the dress in the first two pictures, but seeing it on it’s on, I’m not so sure. It’s quite severe with the high-ish neck. Do you like it?

SoyYo · 01/08/2018 17:09

I made xtra effort for those crappy selfies btw putting on tights & shoes with my busted ankle which if you look closely you can see double the size of my normal one 🤨...will it Ever go down I ask you...anyway I think I’ll ask DH opinion on dress this eve it’s very difficult for you to see it three dimensionally and it’s short straight up and down style is not something I’d usually wear, let alone for work, but in the pinstripe fabric I could get away with it...
You Must, Must buy that Scarf, it’s a beautiful thing and a bargain at £15 (enabling some more!)

Happy hols in beautiful Menorca dave don’t forget a holiday Hush pic! So love that island

SoyYo · 01/08/2018 17:12

Yes cherries on its own it’s a bit meh but very comfortable/easy to wear. May return pending DH feedback.
Yeay on the scarf and Rose jumper! Can’t complain Wink

Ellapaella · 01/08/2018 17:17

@SoyYo dress is lovely. You have lovely colouring (hope you don't mind me saying that) and everything looks really good on you - I am very envious of your lovely dark hair and olive skin tones.
I really love those shoes - where are they from? I love pointed shoes and the colour is delicious!

neveradullmoment99 · 01/08/2018 17:23

The dress is great with the jacket as it nips it in. Its lovely with the scarf also. I think on its own, its hard to tell. It looks a bit shapeless but I think the scarf is the key. It gives it a bit more shape. I would wear it with a lighter scarf for now or maybe some beads to break it up. It seems to nice to return. Could you try nipping it in with a belt? Or would that not work? I never wear belts on dresses. Hate the feeling of wearing a belt in that way but some people love it. Its worth a try.

SoyYo · 01/08/2018 17:25

Ah thank you Ella I’m not even tanned at the mo but tbh I’m being very sensible these days as I baked in my youth and have a fair bit of sun damage. When I see my friends who stayed in sunnier climes (I’ve lived in UK since 1980) I do notice they’re more wrinkly than me and all I can put it down to is less sun in Britain so all the gloomy weather does have THAT advantage. Having said that I always think I look better with a light tan and feel pale at the moment (relatively speaking).
Sorry shoes were Spanish buy from a Valencian shoe shop called Boticcelli so cannot link...love them and their pointy orange style, worn lots at work this S/S

SoyYo · 01/08/2018 17:29

Thanks for the tip never yes I need waist definition to avoid looking like a pregnant barrel with my assets, but I think a belt would make it even shorter (and not convinced it would work) and too short for work definitely.
I think the same as you: styled with scarf/jacket= lovely. On its own=meh
I’ve got plenty of lovely things for work and I don’t “need” it so I’ll be 😇 and return. I just needed the confirmation my first instincts were right.
Thank you All!

Laska5772 · 01/08/2018 17:33

Right the Russel' and Bromleys are in a post office van right now on their way back.. ( i just caught postie in the co op as she was leaving) . It was no good I was fooling myself (was blinded by their beauty) but a bit too narrow and my feet would have regretted it.

Soy I like that dress on you .. Keep.. Ideal for work. You need a statement pendant with it . I think and yes, scarf ( the blue is lovely or any other strong colour ,a poppy would look good ) and at only £12 I've just caved and got one myself have your trainers arrived?

I am now testing out my blue brayebrooks in the same way with trainer socks just to be sure..but id anything they are a little loose in the width . I want to be sure that they dont catch my heel or ankle though as I walk in them. I do like them though

Laska5772 · 01/08/2018 17:33

No soy keep it .. its great !

Laska5772 · 01/08/2018 17:36

Its not to short surely ? I wear things that length to work sometimes .. you have great legs ..

Laska5772 · 01/08/2018 17:40

That Merino scarf is £12 now... Super Dooper Bargainious ..

SoyYo · 01/08/2018 17:43

laska! You make me Grin
I’ll ask DH for his honest opinion this eve, he’s my worst enabler ever (he says I work too hard and deserve to spend it, don’t you just love him?) but he’s also honest.
So I’ll leave it up to DH opinion as clearly I’m torn on it.

No bray brooks yet...I’m hoping tomorrow I get to see them in the flesh

SoyYo · 01/08/2018 17:45

Honestly if you haven’t grabbed that scarf yet you really should, it’s unbelievable at that price (not bothering to reorder for the £3 credit though) and sooo beautiful 😍
