Natural-looking hair products for preteen boy

DS is 11 and has beautiful soft red hair that he desperately wants to have in a side parting with a long side fringe that he can either leave floppy or style up in a quiff. The style really suits him, but all the styling products we've tried just leave it really sticky and greasy-looking and without anything it just flops straight down into his eyes within five minutes. Are there any nice light products that will keep it looking natural but give it a bit of hold?

My son (11) loves Slick Gorilla styling powder £10 a pot but lasts ages (Tip: he’ll need to cover most of the holes with his fingers when he shakes it out otherwise you get loads!). He also has a pot of Bed Head wax which is very good but if he wants a matt look then Slick Gorilla is the one 😀

Thanks - I'll have a look at that. This is all a total mystery to me!
