Can anyone recommend a comfy throw on cardigan that looks effortlessly stylish?

Am fed up with resorting to DH's jumpers when it gets cold. Would love something I can throw on which will keep me warm but also make me look as though I care what I look like.

I would like one too, neither too fitted nor too baggy, suiting a shorty with norkage

tiredandgrumpy · 29/05/2007 14:20

anniemac I'm slim and about average height. Wish I could claim norkage , but sadly not. I tend to wear fitted clothes when I make an effort.

My mother has this classic black wool one from Calvin Klein that she's had for aeons and I am desperate to half-inch . . .

NomDePlume · 30/05/2007 15:46

that lurex cable knit one looks itchy (and like something my grandad would've worn)

jujujbel · 30/05/2007 15:52

I have this one from Wallis in black - I love it and it was only £23 - washes well too. Sorry - can't do link thing!

Fitted is the right move if you're slim (lucky you!), in fact I'd go for one with a belt and show it off! And if you're on the flat side, go for one that's low cut, since you can get away with it, and wear a lace cami underneath if it's too cold (Kind Hearts do a fab range of these in lovely colours, and they're nice and warm). Trouble is at this time of year the cardis are off the shelves. Try the sale section of Jigsaw - they're stuff is very flattering and I think their sale stuff stays out longer than some.

Wow! Plenty of inspiration here. Thanks for all your advice.
