Fit flops - would anyone consider buying these

I've come across these flip-flop style foot wear that supposedly burns fat and improves posture. They are meant to do a similar thing to the MBT trainers. What do people think of these? Wondering whether I am a mug for consdering buying one of these - I am often taken with the hype of a product!

Bizarre! Not sure if they a)do anything b) are comfy! But I'm a sucker for a gimmick Not at that price though...

SueW · 28/05/2007 17:36

Saw an article about these in the papers over the weekend but they are completely sold out with deliveries expected any time now/next month.

Cheaper than those masai trainers (MBTs?)

JoolsToo · 28/05/2007 17:56

I would imagine all sandals/flip flops that you have to 'grip' to keep on your feet work your legs and bum out???????

Vinegar · 29/05/2007 09:20

I'm still in two minds about it, though am wondering whether the fact that I have flat feet will make wearing it more painful. I think I will just wait and see for the moment.

i would buy them
i would put them on to go pick up a takeaway
and kid myself that i had burnt off all the calories

Bouquetsofdynomite · 29/05/2007 10:54

Well the red ones are vile, might go for the black ones if they were cheap enough to get a black permanent pen out and colour in the white bits .

ThomCat · 29/05/2007 10:55

I think they are pleasing to the eye actually but they sound like an uncomfortable pain in the arse to me.

SueW · 29/05/2007 10:57

Would be worn mainly around the beach. Wouldn't it be cheaper to walk on the soft sand?!

RanToTheHills · 05/06/2007 12:06

got some! They're not a thing of beauty, but quite comfy, inoffensive-ish in black and do seem to do what it says on the tin, as it were, did feel it in my muscles after a walk around. Also much cheaper than MBTs at £36 + postage - got them, and quickly from rubbersole.co.uk. Great service.
I'm feeling slightly self-conscious in them tho!

RanToTheHills · 05/06/2007 13:54

well, that killed it and you haven't even seen my toes!

Gingermonkey · 06/06/2007 16:55

no - you haven't killed it - I've just ordered some (I quite like the red ones tbh). I don't wear flip flops usually except round the pool or the house so they'll be perfect for me!!!!!!! I'm all giddy now - waiting for my fit flops to arrive!

expatinscotland · 06/06/2007 16:57

No. If you're going to walk as much as you'd need to to get benefits out of it, put on a pair of trainers or walking shoes.

Lauriefairycake · 07/06/2007 09:52

I have the red ones and they're not ugly on - I'm wearing them right now with dark blue jeans (and painted red toenails). They are comfy on but I do wish they'd done them in a size 3 as my feet are between a 3 and a 4 so they are a bit more work to keep on the feet for me.

I like them and will be quite happy to wear them all summer.

Got them from runningbare.co.uk

anything to work some of my giant ass and thighs

RanToTheHills · 07/06/2007 09:58

like mine too, definitely much more of a workout than must trainers but then i'm also an MBT fan!
They come up big though, mine are hard work to stayon too - should havegone for a size 7 rather than a huge 8.

Gingermonkey · 07/06/2007 18:42

I'm going to be the new leg and bum model for fit flop.........after they have done their magic!!!! LOL! Surely if you wear them during the day and eat healthily and do some exercise they'll do some work???? Mine have been dispatched and should be here tomorrow, can't wait!

er...no

Gingermonkey · 07/06/2007 18:52

ok, they are not exactly the most beautiful things - but then again, all flip flops are pretty hideous and these ones will make me have an arse to rival Kylie's (see how I am sucked in by the hype????)

RanToTheHills · 07/06/2007 21:57

you know, my arse is better (she preens) but my toes are suffering (along with any remaining street cred). Still hope to wear them alot once I've worn the buggers in.
