I'm in SW4 - currently go to a place along the street but am paying £130 for a cut and colour. Need to spend less somehow ...

OMG £130?

I pay £35. I'm in North Yorkshire but I bet you could get a cheap return train for less than £100 and have yourself a day out!

Hope you find one nearer.

i pay 70 ish in saks. and they have the cheek to charge me an extra tenner because i have long hair. (i.e belo w my shoulders)

£70 for a cut and colour cyclon? Wish there was a Saks near me. What colour do you have? I have a half head of highlights.

Actually I think I bought some products last time so it was probably more like £100, but still a good bit more than you.

£35 Yorkshire!!! In my dreams ...

i get a full head colour.
the mobile hairdresser i knew used to charge less than this. but its donein your kithcen and she washes your hair over the bathtub. not quite the pamplering head massage you get in a salon. and i got really annoyed at her

franch · 28/05/2007 22:29

Well that's interesting that Saks is so much cheaper cyclon

Hi Franch, I was paying roughly that at a local salon down my road. It was usually easy to get an appt, and no hassle to get there but it was a lot of money for not a great result tbh.

I used to have a deal with a girl who would do cut and colour at Trevor Sorbie at mates rates but it meant fitting in with her hours and then I felt grateful for the discount as she wasn't my friend so I would tip her highly. Again not cheap.

Now go to quite a swanky place nr Bond St where I pay roughly the same but only due to a discount thanks to my work.

I wish I could pay less- I do eke out the expense by going less often than the 6-weekly they ask for. It's getting quite dire atm as I last had it done in the last couple of weeks of Feb.

Are saks any good?

no idea about saks pink, but let's keep bumping in case anyone has a secret ...

Going to visit parents in Northumberland in Aug so will have it done there as it's only about £65 all-in!
