Has anyone got the Birkenstock sandals with the soft footbed?

If so are they a lot more comfy than the regular ones? I find the normal ones hard and uncomfortable but have always yearned for a pair of Birkies. Also if you have got some where did you get them please? Thanks.

I have Arizona with the soft footbed. Mine are silver and a bit sparkly but they do several options. Very comfortable and take less time to adapt to your feet. Best to buy them from the Birkenstock website £10 off if you sign up for notifications I believe.

I once had the non soft ones, and I couldn’t wear them they were so uncomfortable. This time round I have the Arizona soft ones, they are so comfy, I love them. Only thing is I found they come up quite wide so I went for narrow fit. I used the £10 offer for signing up to their website too.

Yes. They are very comfortable, so much so I bought them in winter and wore them round the house as slippers for months before I started wearing them outside. I have the narrow ones, suede rather than leather.

Could someone please link to the ones you are talking about? I love my normal Birkenstocks but would like to see what these soft ones are like!

Sorry to hijack your thread but I've just got my first pair of fitflops and my god it's like walking on a cloud

I’ve got these ones in blue, but can’t find the blue on the website www.birkenstock.com/gb/arizona-birko-flor/arizona-core-birkoflor-softfootbed-eva-u.html?dwvar_arizona-core-birkoflor-softfootbed-eva-u_color=79#q=Arizona&start=7

I got them recently, my first pair of Birkenstocks so I can't compare to the normal footbed but they are SO comfy and didn't need any breaking in.

I got them from the Birkenstock website. It was the only place I found that stocked "womens" (metallic) styles in regular width as well as narrow.

Appuskidu, they are the same styles as normal Birks, but have a latex foam layer on the footbed and are suede lined rather than just the plain cork sole. You can filter on the website for soft footbed styles.

I’ve got some and I’m going to go against the grain and say I find them less comfy than regular Birks and lots warmer underfoot. They’re rose gold and I find the uppers harder than normal too . There’s lots for sale on EBay so I presume I’m not alone . Have been wearing ordinary Birks for 30 years

Vicliz24 · 17/10/2018 15:45

I have the rose gold soft footbeds and I actually dislike them intensely. I've had regular Birks for over 30 and never have less than five pairs on the go Z This year I fancied metallic so I got them . Hot and the uppers are extremely hard. They'll be on EBay next spring.

Agree with Vicliz - in fact, I've just sold my silver soft footbed Arizonas on eBay Grin The footbed was ok (although I don't have any problem with normal Birkenstocks, anyway), but the upper was so stiff that it gave me horrendous blisters on my insteps. I sold them and got some yellow Mayari ones in the ASOS sale instead, and they're soooo much more comfortable Smile

Seconded. My rule of thumb when it comes to Birks is that the first week or two is going to be utter hell. After that though, they're just about the comfiest footwear without a tinge of doubt!

noodlezoodle · 17/10/2018 17:44

I have a couple of pairs and find them incredibly comfortable. I can't wear the regular footbed ones, they make my feet ache.

Glad it's not just me Mackerella ! Horrible hard things
