Another wedding dress one, sorry, but with a bit of a difference

DP and I are having a statutory wedding ceremony soon, no fuss and no family, just neighbours as witnesses.

However I would still like to look quite nice Smile I fancy a sort of casual-smart dress, the kind I could wear all day and not look OTT in if we're just having lunch in a nice pub, and could wear again.

I prefer navy and black, am very short and a size 8 but still with a lovely saggy tummy thanks to two kids so don't feel comfortable in anything clingy, and only want to spend £50-70. I'm imagining something Joan Holloway might wear Wink

Inspire me please - what would you wear if you were me?

Would you consider a different (although darker) colour to make it special?

There are some lovely dresses on Chichi!

I like some of the Boden ones but being so short they tend to drown me.

It feels very hard to find a dress that is both attractive but also casual enough for the day...

Something like this or too fitted?

Saw a lovely sleeveless navy dress in Hobbs in their sale last week, button down the front and a full skirt, would look lovely with hair done and some flowers and a pair of heels but could definitely be worn again.

Think it was still over £100 though. Otherwise try Cath Kidston as well, they have some lovely dresses sometimes.

Yes, me too. I think the ruffle sleeves make it look a bit more celebratory than some.
