Shoes for my painful feet and a potentially new career - am I delusional?

I have have suffered in cute shoes for about 23 years. I have gone through heels, ballet flats, trainers, flip flops and all manner of fashionable shoes over the years to the detriment of my back, pelvis and now feet. My doctor told me when I was 20 that wearing sensible shoes would cure my back problems but I have never been able to resist a sexy heel or cute flat or anything that is vaguely en vogue. I am very active, I run, cycle and walk everywhere. I'm on my feet at work or am walking my dog and 3 DC to and from school and clubs. I am exhausted every evening, in part due to the chaos of my life but also because I am not able to get about without pain in my feet or back. Thankfully workout outfits and sports shoes are acceptable and fashionable so I practically live in my adidas/new balances. I wear crocs at work as I'm in healthcare and can get away with it. Otherwise I'm stuck for cute shoes that are comfortable supportive and don't make me feel geriatric. I have been thinking of a career change and over the years have been bemused at the lack of attractive shoes for foot shaped feet!!! Does anyone else have this problem? I am genuinely thinking of designing some smart, causal sexy, chic, cool shoes that I can live and work in as I can't find any out there. Any ideas? Shall I ditch the day job and get sketching or are there any brands anyone recommends...? Perhaps I'm the in minority and that is why there is nothing out there. It would be good to know in any case. Thanks.
