Everyday t-shirts not in horrible colours - where are they to be found?

Where can I find them? My local Fat Face only seem to have sludge green or purple. M&S online have a wide range of unpleasant colours (fuschia, orange, purple etc).
I want to buy lots in brown, green (not lime or sludge), blue etc. Ideally round necked (but not a high round neck), but v-necked might be OK.

No Gap anywhere near me, so that's not an option.

Just realised I have next to no summer tops at all. Last year had just given birth, and naively hoped to be back in my old size 8 stuff this year.

This is where mail order scores IMO. Otherwise, Debenhams can surprise you, but do try on as their shapes can be Wrong.

River Island have some nice ones and also Joe Browns.

TheBlonde · 25/05/2007 14:37

sainsburys for about 3 quid

Sunshinemummy · 25/05/2007 14:38

American Apparel.

MuffinMclay · 25/05/2007 14:39

Has to be mail order really. We don't have many clothes shops nearby (Fat Face, crappy little Next, Monsoon), and I can't be bothered to treck to London.

WHITE stuff

MuffinMclay · 25/05/2007 14:41

Isn't American Apparel for tiny, skinny 18 years olds? Or am I thinking of someone else?

MuffinMclay · 25/05/2007 14:42

Want something a bit better than the Sainsburys sort if possible, that will stand up to a lot of washing. And don't have a Sainsburys with clothes nearby.

MuffinMclay · 25/05/2007 14:45

White Stuff ones look OK. Are their sizes big or small? I'm normally a 12.

Sunshinemummy · 25/05/2007 14:45

They do have stuff for tiny skinny people but also for people of a size 12-14 (post baby) ilk like me. Gosh I need to lose weight. They have a UK on-line store but I can't get into it at work.

MuffinMclay · 25/05/2007 14:46

I don't look like bundle of hay (well, only first thing), but my dog does.

White stuff pitter patter and dandelion ordered. Still need some more from somewhere else.

Incidentally, ages ago I asked for skirt recommendations (as a non-skirt wearer) and bought a Boden swishy one. Wore it for the first time today and rather like it.

If you want good quality classic stuff - Pima Cotton - try Spirit of the Andes

MuffinMclay · 25/05/2007 16:21

Bought some vest things in Zara (to wear under shirts) last week and I don't like them at all. Feel really cheap and nasty on the skin. Didn't have time to try on at the time.

Not sure about that 'spirit of the andes' stuff. Look a bit like what my MIL would wear (no offence intended).

Don't mind Marks stuff in black or white, and have bought plenty before now, but I always seem to get beach stains on them within seconds of wearing for the first time.

bleach stains, not beach stains (although sand can be pesky stuff )
