What on earth do I wear to a job interview in this heat?!

I've got a job interview next week and the forecast is 26 degrees and sunny (again). It's in a Court so very formal but surely I can't wear black/a suit in this heat. I've also got a 30 minute train ride and 15 minute walks either side. I'd be so grateful for any suggestions!

Cotton shirt dress in navy or black? They are everywhere at the moment but Zara and Mango and Boden have a reasonable selection. Then some shoes like these.

When I have been in court this week I have been wearing a short sleeve black or navy wrap dress, I carry my jacket and have just been putting in in when in the court room in front of the judge. The ushers have been wearing shirt or blouse and their robe thing.
I would just wear a smart dress or a blouse and skirt, take a jacket but carry it, if it’s cool enough put it on!

What Harryrotter said. Go smart, but layers so you can remove your jacket when you've introduced yourself. Maybe a nice cool silk blouse and smart skirt/suit.

Good luck!

Thank you both! I really like the suggestion of either a shirt dress or a wrap dress so I'll have a good look in the shops this weekend.

If it's a job at the court, black suit, no concession to the weather.

chocolatesprinkle · 29/06/2018 22:16

Agree with Jonbb, I would suck it up myself.

In my experience, court buildings are always super air conditioned for this reason.

I'd go with dark suit...

Fucksgiven · 29/06/2018 22:56

Suit. Deffo. Courts are so air conditioned they are freezing

Highlowpo · 29/06/2018 22:56

Thank you everyone. It's the journey there that I'm more worried about than once I'm in there. I'm very pale and go lobster red with little persuasion and I don't want to turn up looking a sweaty mess.

Can you wear whatever for the journey and take the suit with you then change before the interview?
I've done that before. It's a faff but worth it.

WigglyBlossom · 11/07/2018 18:37

How did it go and what did you wear?
