What do you do when you see a stranger with an obvious 'wardrobe malfunction'?

Just back from the school run. DD's school is in a very busy area with lots of people around (shopperss, business people, tourists etc).

Crossing the street, I was walking next to a woman in a very low cut top with enormous norks, which were pushed together/up and very definitely on display for attention/admiration. The only problem? She had a good half inch of very large/dark nipples on display too - both breasts.

My first impulse was to say 'excuse me, but you might want to adjust your top', but I resisted the temptation. I figured she only had to look down to notice what was happening, or her friend could have/should have noticed/said something.

This woman wandered behind us for a good 10 minutes oblivious to her exhibitionism.

Would you have said anything? Have you ever experienced anything similar? Would you want a stranger to say something to you, if you were giving an unintentional show? Or, maybe she was doing it on purpose??

I would have shouted

NIPPLES

mrsmalumbas · 24/05/2007 16:39

Do you mean actual nipple actually sticking out of actual neckline? As in visible areola? I mean sticky up nipples are a bit unavoidable if it's chilly, but I've never seen actual areolas hanging out of t-shirts before (unless a baby is attached, of course). How bizarre!

No - plunging neckline with visible areolas. Very visible.

NIPPLES

Didn't any of the children comment on it? My ds would have done and very loudly too!

hunkermunker · 24/05/2007 16:43

Haha - I tucked someone's label into her top on the Tube yesterday - tapped her on the shoulder and pointed it out to her first, then just tucked it out of sight.

Earlybird · 24/05/2007 16:44

WB - would you really? I couldn't figure out why she wasn't looking down (maybe she couldn't see over the cleavage?), or why her friend didn't say anything. It was unmissable. Sort of comical to watch people's faces as they noticed...

I don't suggest you go for that approach with stranger's nipples though.

WelshBoris · 24/05/2007 16:46

Of course I wouldn't.

Would be very funny if someone did though

Earlybird · 24/05/2007 16:46

cornsilk - the only children around were 6 year old girls, so no comments. Even the men in trucks/vans seemed rendered speechless - either with shock or admiration!

SHe might have wanted it that way .

Earlybird · 24/05/2007 16:50

Well, she definitely had a fine 'pair' to show - maybe not as big as a Jordan or Pamela Anderson, but not far off.

It was too tricky to call. Most people I know are very aware of being 'on show' if they've got an extra revealing top on - they usually spend some time tugging at their top, or rearranging themselves, or use tit tape to stay 'contained'. She never looked down, and was so blatant, it was hard to think that she didn't know. Also stunning that her friend hadn't said anything.

Must confess to wondering if it was some sort of wind-up to test the reactions of people as they were treated to the show. I was half expecting Borat/Ali G to jump out of the shadows!

TBH the only thing I ever want to do is show some people what they look like from behind. It's quite shocking sometimes. Well I get a shock when I see my own back view quite often.....
