Hi I’m looking for some shorts to put under long skirts and dresses. I want to say cycling shorts but not shiney fabric. Cheap as possible because I’m on a budget. Anyone have any ideas? Don’t want recommendations for powders gels for chub rub etc because they don’t work lol. Tia

I bought cheap ones from Amazon www.amazon.co.uk/369-STORE-Womens-Elastic-Leggings/dp/B01GUHRHX4?tag=mumsnetforum-21
Really thin so not warm.

I got the short leg from here in black & white for under bridesmaids & evening dresses. They are brilliant and lasting really well. Not shiny at all.

For work I got some cheaper ones from Yours - like a cross between big nude pants and cycling shorts. Super comfy and a lot cooler than cut off leggings but a bit shiny.

What about the stuff that cyclists use to stop chafing?

I have Lanacane and also Bodyglide stuff.

The Matalan ones aren't as expensive as I thought - they've currently got two for £6 - one black, one white. Seamless.

I cut a pair of tights into shorts.

Forget my sew it yourself plan. Wrecked a nice pair of leggings. Brought a pair (last in the shop!) From peacocks for £6. That and I plan to do nothing today so no chance to rub.

I used to wear 40 denier tights for work in winter. I cut the legs off some old ones at knee level and wear them under dresses.
They are comfortable and not too hot.

I can't find any on matalan online, what are they called?

Numberonecook · 26/06/2018 20:41

Thank guys. Even when my legs were slim I suffered because of the shape of my legs. Smooth as a baby’s bum too so nothing to do with leg hair.

I have some from several brands. I have sloggis, because like you I wanted cotton. I hardly wear them and don't find them that comfy. I have one pair from the big bloomers company which I like a lot, but my favourite are skimmies by jockey. They are shiny though, but cooler than the sloggis and I don't feel like I'm wearing them.

Bodyglide is good. I saw it on here and got some, seems to work well!

I got some cotton cycling shorts on eBay . Very cheap and loads of sizes and colours for chub rub .
