If mitchum isn't working (smell wise, its keeping me dry), what else can I use? Thanks

Wash pits with soap and exfoliate area. You must dry thoroughly - I use the hair dryer. Apply Perspirex or Odaban twice weekly. Make sure there is no stubble as the hair holds on to sweat.
I am a right sweaty Betty but you'd never know.

bagelbaby · 24/06/2018 09:56

Mum
Old skool me !
Never ever let me down (as the advert used to say😀)

Cacofonix · 24/06/2018 10:07

Yes this happened to me. I use perspirex or dove max (the £5) one and I am smell free now. I already use soap rather than shower gel.

wizzywig · 24/06/2018 14:08

I tried a mitchum roll on. Wow i dont stink. Thank you everyone. I thought noone would answer on a relatively boring thread

Bionsen aerosol

schooltripwoes · 24/06/2018 14:26

Wash with proper old-fashioned bar soap instead of shower gel (this made a HUGE difference for DH) and use a natural deodorant such as Pit-Rok. They are naturally antibacterial so the bacteria that cause the smell don't grow. They are NOT anti-perspirants though, so you may need to use a conventional AP as well if wetness is an issue.

ProfessorMoody · 24/06/2018 14:29

I've swapped to a crystal stick recently and it's been amazing - I really didn't believe it would work, but it has proved me very wrong!

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/06/2018 18:36

I bought PitRok today so I'll give it a try.
Soap on my armpits- I'll try that, I'm using the L'Occitane Almond oil at the moment which I love but I'll try the soap underarm, almond everywhere else .

I noticed people praising the Aldi white soap- is a standard no frill one best? I've got some Body Shop Shea soap waiting (too miserly to buy L'Occitane soap at the time ) .

wizzywig · 24/06/2018 21:23

Can't believe it. Nearly 9.30pm and I don't have BO.

I'm delighted to find this thread, I've noticed myself smelling slightly during the day even though I shower daily and tbh I don't sweat much at all! I don't have a problem with wetness just the slight odour, and that's only recently, I don't know why. Ive tried the Dove overnight stick one but no joy. I think I'll try the bar soap first and see how that goes. Thanks

lhastingsmua · 24/06/2018 21:31

Looks like it was just the aerosol form that was the issue then!

daftyburd · 24/06/2018 21:35

70isaLimitNotaTarget Is that the UK Urban Outfitters? I’ve been wanting to try Schmidt (vegan) as I’ve heard good things about. I’m using a Native Unearthed deodorant balm just now which I like. It’s works well for me but it would be nice to switch it up with another smell.

MrsRoyCropper · 24/06/2018 21:37

Try hibi scrub, available from amazon. It’s medical grade antibacterial wash and will destroy the bacteria build up causing the odour. It’s honestly brilliant, it keeps the area so clean for couple of days so no smell, it’s also great for washing spot prone skin after regular cleansing to keep it really clean. Works for me and a bottle lasts for ages!

dementedma · 24/06/2018 21:41

surprised people saying they "stink". I'm hormonal and prone to hot flushes so get quite sweaty but don't stink. Use soap to wash and Mitchum roll on. Have been using Mitchum for over 40 years now - must be one of their most long standing customers

BerylStreep · 24/06/2018 23:33

I use spray vinegar on armpits of clothes, and also sometimes on my armpits themselves. It seems to help. Stress causes me to have BO. I quite like the Sure maximum cream, but some clothes smell more than others.

northernlites · 24/06/2018 23:38

Sure maximum is the best I've found for me, it really does the tricky for a hot hormonal 40something

Ollivander84 · 24/06/2018 23:40

Sure maximum at night for me and a dove men's one in the morning
I have to wash armpits with hibiscrub anyway and it does help

BerylStreep · 24/06/2018 23:56

There was a thing on the news a few months ago about armpit flora transplants. Very interesting.

Twins, one with stinky pits, the other not. He washed with antibacterial soap for a few days, then received a flora 'transplant ' by getting his twin to wipe his pits with a baby wipe and then passing it on to stinky twin. It worked apparently.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2018 00:14

dafty , yes the one in Bluewater, (there's a couple in Oxford St as well as Westfields)
I usually use Superdrug ( cheap'n'cheerful ) but it wasn't working.
DD loves UO , I saw the deoderant and the all important words Cruelty Free , it is £8 though. It smells nice , even at the end of the day .
I can't take it on holiday though, it'll melt .
I bought the crystal PitRok so I'll try that for a few days and hopefully my holiday woes are sorted.

daftyburd · 25/06/2018 00:36

Thanks I’ve just ordered one on the website. Picking it up in my local Urban Outfiiters on Tuesday!

lhastingsmua · 25/06/2018 19:51

Sure maximum users - which scent do you recommend/use?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 25/06/2018 20:11

I used the PitRok (after using soap on me pits) and even after the hottest day in ages, my armpits are daisyfresh Grin

I am back at work tomorrow ( stress, driving and very unforgiing NHS polycotton tunic) so I'll see how it fares !

northernlites · 25/06/2018 23:54

I prefer pomegranate one of the Sure Maxim. Range
