Anyone else considering a tattoo?

I have been eyeing up these watercolour tattoos for the last few years, and am thinking of getting one. (not anywhere visible, probably across my stomach or side) I called in to a tattoo shop but I have to really know what I want, how big and an exact description so I just thought I'd post here and hope for any advice.

I am just wondering if any of you have tattoos, are they big or small ones, or do you like them at all? I quite like the big rambling ones, but that would probably be a huge job so I would need to be 100% sure.

I'm definitely going to think about it for a while before I do anything but would love any advice or ideas.

I have 6 tattoos all done when younger and am booked in for a large piece on my lower arm in July ( hoping eventually to turn it into a half sleeve).
I've been debating for ages about wether to get it somewhere so visible, but it is something I've always wanted and the design is being made for me so will be custom.
I have been following the tattoo artists work for years. He always has a waiting list of a few months and charges £100 an hour. He specialises in the style that I want (black and grey realism) so I know he will make it look amazing.

I've ordered some numbing cream to help with the pain (will take about 5-6 hours) and some organic natural after balm to aid healing.

Sometimes life really is too short not to do the things we want to!

MIL and I are off to get our first tattoos next Saturday. Very excited, I've been planning mine for about ten years!

I love them personally but am shite at making my mind up (my usual reply to tea or coffee? Surprise me!) so still haven't done it yet!

I got mine (only have the one) when I was 17, by 23 I didn't like it so had it covered with something else. Now at 45, I've regretted it for a very long time. It's med-large & on the top of my arm - for the last 15 years I've avoided sleeveless tops because I don't like It showing (I don't think there's many people that know I have one!) & yes it's a fucking headache, especially in this weather. I can't afford to have it lasered off, have thought about having it covered up again but unsure of what & then it would just have to be even bigger, I can just about get away with short-ish sleeve tops as it is. It was a bit more colourful obviously when first done 20 years ago, but now it just looks all blurry & dark blue with no definition, DH says it looks like a big ol' spider splatted on my arm!

I do like tattoos though. I wish I'd got it on my back or somewhere not as visible & maybe something with a bit more colour. You see tattoos look great when first done, in 20 years time they look very different.
