What do teenaged boys wear to a wedding?

Mid teens but one is taller than DH so probably not kids’ section anymore.

We aren’t going to any other weddings in the foreseeable future so don’t want to spend a lot as they will probably get one wear out of whatever is bought.

Any ideas?

A few years ago they just wore dark school trousers, and I got them a set from next consisting of a shirt, waistcoat and tie. they looked sweet as still young.

But they’re in between “cute” and “handsome your man” stage now. What do they wear?!

Smart trousers, shirt - could be collarless maybe? Or with a tie. Waistcoat. And if it's not a mega formal wedding I might allow vans or converse.

My 14 & 11 yo's wore smart jeans and a nice shirt to mine.

I would put them in chinos and a smart, open necked shirt.

I think they follow the dress code. So if it’s a formal wedding and the other men are wearing suits then they should follow suit (pardon the pun). You can get cheap ones from the supermarket brands or for the younger one what you did before with school trousers plus shirt, tie and possibly a waistcoat would also be fine.

DS wore his prom suit to my friend's wedding, we picked it up quite reasonably in Matalan.

Nicely fitted dark jeans or chinos and a smart shirt with clean (newish) vans or cornverse. There is no sense in buying something that won't be worn again.

Brilliant, thank you. I think is a traditional church wedding but we’re not a massively formal or posh family (not this side of the family anyway!) so think we have the option of just a nice shirt and trousers if they prefer.

Hadn’t thought of Matalan but think it will be worth a try.
