'Work' from a wrinkle perspective, I mean!

You can't wear a day cream with retinol in, it will destroy your skin with sun damage.

Retinol and its derivatives make the skin very very photo sensitive and you'll get pigmentation v quickly without spf 30 every day, I mean 365 days a year, even Christmas Day.

I agree, I would keep anything retinoid based for at night, but make sure you wear spf during the day.

I’ve heard good things about Indeed retinol resurface (I think it’s called) and la roche posay redermic.

I’m currently using the Ordinary retinol granactive, but when that’s finished I might get some actual tretinoin (can get over the counter here in spain).

Ah ok! Thank you for explaining.

Does retinol upset your skin before making it better?

princesstiasmum · 16/06/2018 23:22

Retinol reface by indeed is lovely, and doesnt irritate your skin
I have got some retin A from Spain, but i am not sure about it, my wrinkles look worse and skin is very dry
You can get retin A here now, saw it advertised a few days ago, but can remember where
I will see if i can find the ad and post it

I use Beauty Pie Retinol serum and Retinol moisturiser at night. In the morning I use Ultrasun SPF 30 Face over my daytime moisturiser. The Ultrasun is excellent. The Beauty Pie Retinol is gentle and hasn't upset my skin.

My understanding is that Retinol is different from Retin A. You do need to do your research before using it - try youtube.

I was considering this stuff but given the sun damage issue I decided to stick with

Oil cleansing
La Roche posay factor 50- daily (ish)
Have also massively improved my diet

And skin is pretty fine !
