Hair colour help for a deep summer (house of colour)

I had my colours done and am a deep summer. I can sort of see what the lady was saying, maybe.

I'm getting my hair dyed next week but I've no idea what colour. It's currently chin length and salt and pepper with some distinct grey/white areas.

I want a big change.

I was planning on getting it red ( pin up red or dark cherry red) and once I was fed up of the upkeep going a more sensible brown but I know the red would still show through the brown. That wouldn't bother me but apparently I should be more ash?

I want to give this HOC stuff a try but I'm finding ashy hair colour uninspiring (no offence to anyone!). I don't think blonde-ish colours would suit me even in a balange type style plus I don't think it would take if I had the red first.

I am open minded, the red isn't obligatory.

My hairdresser is lovely. She listens and I like how she cuts my hair but she isn't great with colouring and likes to play safe.

I have virgin hair so I want to make the most of it!

I'm 41, blue/grey eyes and am quite pale. My eyebrows are ginger/blonde (but I dye them mid brown).
