Anyone else had a problem with the wear of Hush stuff? My new(ish) sloppy joe is ruined!

I've only worn it about 6 times since purchase in March!

Basically I noticed today that the ribbing on the hem looks as if someone has taken nail scissors to it and made a tiny snip, vertically, about every 1-2 cm.

It's so bad on on of the sleeves that it's starting to look visibly frayed there, and I think it will look the same on the ribbing on the bottom hem after another coupld of washes.

I have washed it at 30 degrees, delicate wash, notut it in drier, exactly as instructed on label.

I'm a bit miffed!!!

Are Hush Customer Services good about this sort of thing? I had to return something to Boden once when important threads came loose after 1 wear, and they were fantastic about it. Will I be wasting my time to complain to Hush?

To be honest, it beats me why everyone raves about Hush; they style it really well and the catalogues look great but I l find the quality very poor for the price. I love the cut of the t-shirts but they are very thin given the £35 price tag. The dresses are very expensive given that they're thin viscose; I went through John Lewis in Newcastle last year when they were putting out the summer stuff, and couldn't believe how creased and cheap the fabric looked. I have a couple of the long Nina cardigans; they've bobbled really badly despite very little wear, and now look very shabby - on the strength of them, I won't touch their knitwear again. By contrast, I picked up a couple of cardigans in the Me & Em sale for a similar price and there is just no comparison. Decided I'd rather pay more for decent stuff that lasts. It seems very Emperor's New Clothes imo.

I’ve also had satisfaction with Hush CS. It’s not as rapid or as unquestioning as Boden, but have always had a satisfactory outcome. Just checking though - what colour is your SJ? The yellow and I think perhaps (not sure) the lilac are distressed and what you are describing sounds like they are meant to be. My mum is always itching to fix mine ‘before it gets any worse’!

ilovecherries · 04/06/2018 20:38

Always, not also!

JessiCake · 04/06/2018 20:44

Oh! Mine is yellow!! I hadn't noticed the distressing before though... hmm... will look online and see how they describe it!!

Thanks ilovecherries!!

I have the yellow. It certainly seemed to develop over a couple of washes, then didn’t change. I think they described it as raw edged or something. My mum happened to be staying when it was delivered and was enraged ‘they’ve sent you some old second hand rag’ etc etc Grin.

JessiCake · 04/06/2018 20:58

thanks ilovecherries Blush I feel silly now! I def didn't notice it at first and it's more pronounced now. I also have the black and it's not happened there, which makes sense if only a couple of colours are distressed.

I feel quite distressed myself, now, tbh!

stringbean, I'm hoping your assessment of HUsh doesn't turn out to be (as I worry that it is) true as I've fallen in love with the Kensington dress I've finally had delivered after months on back-order. I love it, it looks fab on, but I've only worn and washed it once and I'm paranoid it won't wash/wear well!!

Grin. Black and red def don’t have it, yellow def does and lilac I can’t remember (don’t have it). My Kensington dress has been fine :).

chloechloe · 04/06/2018 22:10

Their CS is really good. I've complained about two Tshirts that went out of shape and a jumper where the embroidery came loose. I emailed them some photos and the have me a refund without any quibbles.

I do love Hush clothes but I have to say that the quality of some items is very poor, tshirts and knitwear especially.

Jessi and chloe

Come and joins us 'Hushistas' over here?

Laska5772 · 04/06/2018 22:16

If its the yellow 'love' sweat , that has distressed sleeves. I have worn and washed mine loads. iIs fine and hasn't frayed any more .

lurkingfromhome · 05/06/2018 00:02

I wouldn’t touch their knitwear with a bargepole any more, having spent £90 on a cardigan and £80 on a jumper both of which were like bobbled rags after a couple of wears.

TheClitterati · 05/06/2018 00:27

Ive also found Hush knitwear to be very poor quality.

I have a few pairs of their harem pants - both black ones the fabric is very cheap. The grey ones have worn Better. Style is great. Substance not so great.

Nearlyadoctor · 05/06/2018 13:33

Lilac has it, black doesn’t. DH commented when I bought my lilac one that if one of his sweats looked like it I’d be binning it!
