After having dd 4 years ago I had a coil fitted to put it mildly it didn't agree with me. I feel I have wasted the last 4 years of my life trying to battle through and manage the side effects. I put on 3 1/2 stone in 6 months which I could not lose no matter how hard I tried, I bleed for months at a time which lead to feel really run down and over time I became quite depressed. I asked repeatedly for it to be removed to be told give it 6 more months, I saw a different GP 4 months ago who actually listened to me removed it there and then and put me back on the combined pill. 4 months later I have lost all the weight back down to 9st 11 (aiming for 9st 7 so a 4lbs to go), no longer depressed, period lasting 3 days (which is my normal) and just feel back to being me.

I have bearly any clothes that fit and £1000 to spend so please help me spend it! I haven't been me for so long I feel way out of touch with trends and fashions and at a bit of a loss as where to start. I am 5ft 4 size 8-10 with 32F boobs I have picked up a few basics when been doing the weekly shop, 2 pairs of cropped black leggings, 1 pair denim shorts, 1 pair ankle grazers and 5 plain basic t-shirts all Tesco. I had a bra fitting at weekend and brought new knickers so all sorted there, probably don't need anymore sandles as have 4 pairs of decent sandles, 1 pair Sketchers go walk flip flops, 2 pairs of Sketchers go walk for chasing kids round in on days out and boots I will deal with come Srpt/Oct time.

I have ear marked £150 for a Radley cross body bag and matching purse for our up coming holiday so I have £850 left to spend on clothes plus another £100 put away for swim wear. So please kind mumsneters help me look like me again!

I have a hair appointment Friday for cut and colour, eyebrow shaping and eye lash tint which was budgeted for separately.

Thank you to anyone who is willing to help me. I am 5ft 4, brown hair, green eyes and fair skinned not sure if that is of interest.

You are my size. Well done for weight loss. Try LK Bennett and Jigsaw. LK Bennett have a sale on but not sure what is left. I think their pricing is too high bar the sales. Their trousers are good Russell and Bromley shoes - last for years providing you avoid the very high fashion ones. They have some lovely styles in at present.

Check out sosandar and closet London for nice but reasonably priced stuff!

Thank you will check out those websites. Any ideas on styles? I don't have one! I rearly got dressed most days as I was so depressed and now have no idea what is in fashion don't want to waste £1000. All help and ideas will be gratefully received.

I'm not exactly super fashionable but wearing a dress always makes me feel put together, and it's easier than matching up separates too! You'll probably need to try on a few styles to see what suits you :)

Hush is very popular, I’d definitely recommend a look at them. And a whole day trip to a big shopping centre to try absolutely everything on.

What are your lifestyle needs? What occasions would you like nice clothes for? Pub? Parties? School run? Beach? And is this 850 quid just for the summer? will you be able to have another go in October for winter coats and boots or will you need to hold some back for that? (much more expensive per garment).

BackToBeingMe · 04/06/2018 16:23

I have separate budget for winter stuff as none of that, my wardrobe is bare! I will be going to the bull ring so should have a large selection of shops.

My needs day to day clothes really for school run etc and a few nicer/dresser bits for the weekends. We have a family wedding in August also but I have a seperate budget of £200 for that but will probably try and pick an outfit for that up at the same time.

You could try the John Lewis online style edit. Quite fun, and v useful in your situation but do it at your laptop because it’s a nightmare on a phone.
