Been looking for a new bronzer for a while. Had two different Bobbi Brown ones in the past, but never felt either was perfect. So went into town today to look at bronzers. Nearly went for a gurlain one, but the woman put so much on I was orange. It put me off. After I had discounted glittery ones from other counters I went to have a look at Chanel. Wasn't sure at first, but the Chanel lady some how convinced me (very unlike me to be so easily persuaded) and I think I like it. Hope so anyway because it was very expensive. Not entirely sure how to use it so that I don't look too orange though. Anyone else got this bronzer? Do you like it? How do you use it? Thanks everyone.

I've used this for years and absolutely love it! It lasts for ages as well so it's good value for money - my current one is 2 years old (daily use) and still going strong

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 02/06/2018 22:13

To use it I use the wee brush you get with it, swirl if round the pot lightly and then apply to your cheekbones, hairline, jawline and down nose

This is the dupe I have. It's great!

Surf did you buy the brush separately? Don't think I got a brush with it. Hoping it'll be just what I've been searching for. Good to hear it lasts well too. Excited to try it out today, it's my first Chanel makeup item, just hope I don't end up orange.

I originally bought this Chanel brush but I must admit I prefer using the real techniques brush (one on left of picture, buffing brush)

Thanks, I've got one of those real techniques brushes so will give it a go.

Thanks everyone, just been having a play with it and love it! It looks like I just had a bit sun rather than put bronzer on iyswim. Looks so natural and a fab colour on my fair skin (even if it does look scarily orange in the tub). Tried a few different brushes and think my ecotools bronzer brush will be perfect. I bought it ages ago, but never really liked it for powder products. Nearly threw it away at one point, pleased I kept hold of it now. Just need to see how it lasts throughout the day now.

Is it the creamy gel one?

AlbanyV · 07/06/2018 10:04

So I have the Bourjois Bronzing Primer and the formula is almost identical to the Chanel one (Bourjois is owned by Chanel so safe to say that they are probably the same). I absolutely love this bronzer, especially for the summer. I use it one of two ways, either I dab a buffing brush (I use Real Techniques sclupting brush) into the pot, then buff it a bit on the back of my hand to take off the excess before I buff it into my skin.
OR I use a damp beauty blender in much the same way: dab it into the pot, dab off the excess on the back of my hand and then onto my face. Blends like a dream!

Ellapaella · 07/06/2018 10:14

@AlbanyV any ideas where I might buy the bourgeois one? I'm looking online and it seems all out of stock everywhere

Ellapaella · 07/06/2018 10:15

Ah just seen online it's been discontinued!

stoplickingthetelly · 07/06/2018 22:03

Yes that's the one I bought. I really like it.

Fab, thanks, I wasn't sure as it said it was cream-gel.

AlbanyV · 08/06/2018 09:25

@Ellapaella I remember buying mine from Superdrug a while ago, but having a quick search online it looks like it might have been repackaged as the Sun Illusion Blur Skin Perfector.
I can't say for sure, but it looks incredibly similar and the description sounds the same

Ellapaella · 08/06/2018 10:08

Thanks @AlbanyV I'll give that a go, looks very similar.

stoplickingthetelly · 08/06/2018 11:43

Raspberry it is a cream/gel/mousse type formula, but I still use if with a brush and apply it quite similar to how I would a powder bronzer. Maybe just a bit more of a buffing technique rather than just sweeping, although I do that too.
