So now Levi's don't do Curve IS anymore, where can I find jeans that *really* won't gape?

Just been into Levi's and tried a pair of their straight leg jeans on in a size 32. They fitted perfectly over the thighs and my very round bum, but gaped like mad around the back of my waist. DH couldn't believe it when I showed him, and said "This is how it ALWAYS is."

Where can I find a cut that is genuinely for pear shaped women? Tight on the hip but generously cut for heavy thighs and bum. Does it even exist?

Should add - I want straight cut only, no skinnies or slim!

Diesel and Replay are the best alternatives IMHO

Strangely some M&S are OK.

Don't go near topshop,

DunkandEggAgain · 01/06/2018 22:19

You'll need to buy from the States. I'm sorry. It's a PITA, I experience this as well.

ProjectGainsborough · 01/06/2018 22:20

I’ve got some weekday high waisted straight leg jeans which are bloody miraculous in that they fit at the waist.

DunkandEggAgain · 01/06/2018 23:03

Lots recommend NYDJ. I found them useless. Cheap and nasty thin material. Nothing special about the fit.

Gap curvy isn't too bad - so long as your arse is at the meeker end of high and round. If it's like a shelf, then don't bother.

In Selfridges there's a jean range by a Kardashian.. dunno the brand name sorry. Hundred quid a pair or there abouts.

I don't even bother with jeans anymore and haven't for ages. It sucks.

goose1964 · 01/06/2018 23:05

I've never found jeans I couldn't get a tennis ball in the gape at the back, even jeggings do it

TroubledLichen · 01/06/2018 23:07

I’m a size 26 but also suffer from the gape of doom. I find Whistles pretty good actually, failing that cheapo tregging type things (cringe).

TroubledLichen · 01/06/2018 23:09

Oh and I have straight/slim cut jeans (definitely not skinnies) from Whistles but they are a few seasons old.

glenthebattleostrich · 01/06/2018 23:10

I bought a brilliant pair of Lee jeans when I was in the us. I'll try to see what they were called but think they were just regular fit or similar.

NutellaFitzgerald · 01/06/2018 23:24

Call me weird but as a pearshaped woman (43 inch bum, 29inch waist) I find men's jeans fit me better. Yes. Men's jeans. 32x32. I think they don't rely on lycra to stretch. They MAKE room in the thigh.

501 men's jeans are my faves.

It's worth a try.

SkinniesAreOver · 01/06/2018 23:46

why on earth did they stop doing them! I have two pairs of bold curve but they're both a bit tight!

I have got the tailer to take jeans in at the waistband, in tucks. Like an invisible belt! I works well, have had it done a few times.

Sofabitch · 02/06/2018 00:02

Evans do great pear shaped jeans. But only for size 14 plus

DewDropsonKittens · 02/06/2018 00:03

I recently brought simply be lift and sculpt jeans, they have a panel inside the front for smooth look and a waist band which moulds to your shape

£43 a pair, but they are the best I have found for my pear shape

walnutwood · 02/06/2018 11:45

Isn’t it daft that this is such a big problem! I will try out/research all the ones that have been mentioned. Why ever did they get rid of Curve ID??!

My Lee ones are called modern series curvy fit, straight leg. And you can get the on Amazon!

thedevilinablackdress · 02/06/2018 13:58

Levi's Wedgie are not too bad. Otherwise I get them tailored.

EdinaMonsoon · 02/06/2018 15:44

Madewell are the best brand for curvy hip/small waist/non-gaping.
