Can anyone help me out ??

I ordered this dress for an event in 6 weeks time, and I honestly can't decide whether I'll send it back or keep it. I would really appreciate some honest opinions! I haven't got any shoes to match it yet, but suggestions are welcome. I'm not liking the back at all, and it's gaping slightly - but I could have it altered. I realise fat backs don't look great, especially mine GrinI will be looking a little less pasty on the day!!

Just not sure. I'm 5'5 and 11st 6lbs if that means anything to anyone. Dress is in a size 14 from Oliver Bonas. Thanks so much!

Hi OP. I agree with PPS: the blue dress needs to be longer (knee length) and you'd be better off with a scoop or V neck. What's your budget?

StoatofDisarray · 31/05/2018 17:07

Sorry, just saw what you said about sun damage.

What about something like these? uk.monsoon.co.uk/view/product/uk_catalog/mon_6.18/4425740114

Budget isn't so much of an issue, just getting a bit desperate now and time is running out!!

I saw a lovely dress on the Phase Eight website. Sadly I haven't got an event or the boobs to put in it.

OMG me too. I'm watching this thread now because I have to go to a wedding in September and I am similarly clueless Smile

MollyHuaCha · 31/05/2018 17:30

Sorry OP, I'm not keen on the dress.

Wingbing · 31/05/2018 17:40

I have just posted this dress back. Because of the back.

Shame because its a lovely dress until I put it on.

Claystone · 31/05/2018 18:06

Go try some Phase 8 dresses on OP. I've got a couple that i wouldn't have even thought of trying, but the fit is really flattering.

puglife15 · 31/05/2018 18:27

How do you feel about getting your arms out? I think this would really flatter you... www.hobbs.co.uk/product/display?productID=0118-5428-9045L00&productvarid=0118-5428-9045L00-ORANGE-12

HildaZelda · 31/05/2018 20:35

I think the dress is nice on you, but I don't like the length. It's a bit frumpy.

MsHomeSlice · 31/05/2018 20:44

that hobbs dress is lovely!

had a quick look on their site and they have lots of choice.

alexd112 · 01/06/2018 17:19

Thanks again everyone. In fairness, one can always rely on everyone on the S&B threads to be honest without being mean SmileI've got some really nice ideas so hopefully I'll be able to sort myself out soon enough!

I also have bad sun damage to my chest, but if I put a bit of tinted moisturizer on it, it looks ok. Have you tried that? Seems a shame to swear off v-neck dresses for ever if they suit you better.

auntyflonono · 01/06/2018 17:40

I like your red shoes!

halfwitpicker · 01/06/2018 19:20

FAKETANMYLEGS

THAT DRESS IS STUNNING

halfwitpicker · 01/06/2018 19:21

Omg sorry for the caps!

Blush
FogCutter · 01/06/2018 19:32

Agree that the dress FakeTan linked to is stunning and would really suit you.

Just use some coverup/ foundation on any sun damage.

CountFosco · 01/06/2018 19:58

I like your red shoes!

Me too! Agree with others, the patterned dress was fine until we saw the back. If you don't want a v neck go for a boat neck or shallow scoop that shows off your clavicles.

endthefarts · 01/06/2018 20:05
  1. Your figure is lovely.
  1. The dress is lovely.
  1. The two lovely things don’t work together - you can do better.
SequinsOnEverything · 01/06/2018 20:13

I agree, the Hobbs dress would look good on you.

DrowningEveryDay · 01/06/2018 21:13

I like the second dress better on you.

I don’t like the first one at all.
