Can anyone reccomend me a rose perfume which isnt too old ladyish and lasts well. I keep putting on stupid amounts of handcream because I love the rose scent in it so I think I need a rose perfume. I fine perfumes dont tend to last long on me so one that is longer lasting would be good

I have got Stella, Paul Smith, Pacifica Persian Rose, Estee Lauder Wood Mystique and Al Rehab oils.
Stella comes in EDP and EDT - EDP is deeper and sweeter, EDT is more like an airy, pink rose.
Paul Smith Rose is beautiful, fresh and uplifting
Persian Rose is a rose with sweet lemon, very interesting
EL Wood Mystique is a heavy rose with a touch of oud.
Al rehab Red Roses oil is cheap as chips, but very stong, deep, velvety rose.

I also like Miller Harris Rose Silence and Diptyque Eau Rose, but they are a bit more expensive.

And because I'm obsessed with smell of roses I use Zoflora Rose for cleaning. Love it!

My daughter wears Jo Malone Red Roses which smells really "real"
a bit pricey but worth it and lasts well

AgentCooper · 30/05/2018 10:48

I had a bottle of the original Stella and left it in a flaming toilet in Berlin. It was lovely.

LibertyBlue · 30/05/2018 10:50

Miller Harris Rose Silence free large sample in Harper’s bizarre May or April edition can’t remember

Lots knocking around eBay

LibertyBlue · 30/05/2018 10:53

Floral Street does some excellent roses

Neon rose is fresh and bright

Black lotus is a rose in a black leather jacket (it really is)

Both EDPs so they last

Don’t bother with no Malone or EDTs if you want longevity

Doingreat · 30/05/2018 11:00

Haven't the stella McCartney perfumes been discontinued?

MinaPaws · 30/05/2018 11:06

Bvlgari Rose Essentielle is really gorgeous.

Estee Lauder Modern Muse le Rouge is also a lovely rose-based perfume (though I get more compliments wearing the Bvlgari.)

I want to try the Bvlgari Rose Goldea now, mentioned upthread.

Bvlgari Rose Essentielle is really gorgeous

Must try this.

Used to wear Bvlgari Femme years ago.

Was a Paris YSL fan for years (showing my age!) but it's changed now.

LARLARLAND · 30/05/2018 11:17

I wear Jo Malone's Red Roses and get asked about it all the time. It's lovely.

teta · 30/05/2018 11:20

The best powerful Rose is Une Rose by Frederick Malle . It’s really expensive but can be bought in 10 ml sizes. Its very long lasting. Other than that Papillons Tobacco Rose which is Rose with Ambergris and Galbanum. La fille de berlin is also a wine-like deep red rose by Serge Lutens. This was the first ever perfume I found that fitted my brief of a pure red rose. Finally Perfumes de Rosine specialise in roses and do brilliantly good value sample packs you can order direct from the website.

LibertyBlue · 30/05/2018 11:36

^ listen to teta she knows about roses! Also come and say hi on the perfumista thread. We are friendly and very much welcome newcomers with all budgets and tastes Smile

doingreat Stella got reformulated around 2014, the packaging changed slightly too, so there was a moment when it disappeared and the old Stella was in a clearance bin.

CarefullyDrawnMap · 30/05/2018 15:05

Serge Lutens La Fille de Berlin is very nice.

MsHomeSlice · 30/05/2018 15:12

isn't one of the verawang ones a bit rosey?

I often wonder about a rose scent but I want the smell of my summer garden, which is the North sea, sun, and a pink dog rose that smells like perfect turkish delight.

tobee · 30/05/2018 15:57

I love rose scented stuff but a lot are a bit sweetie smelling, like Turkish delight. Which would you say is the most English garden?

Viola82 · 30/05/2018 16:05

Jo Malone, red rose

ElizaBenson · 30/05/2018 19:31

Oh wow I wasnt expecting so many replies! Thank you everyone lots for me to look out for and smell, thank you to those who reccomended jo malone but unfortunately it hardly lasts on me, but I will be looking out some of the other suggestions, I love the sound of papillions tobacco rose especially

guffaux · 30/05/2018 22:31

try a plain edc mixed with pure essential oil - rose geranium with bergamot is fresh, and reminiscent of turkish-delight

for the coastal summer garden- mix the above and add a little clary sage or vetiver

boots do a citrus and a rose edc that you can mix with essential oils and create personal scents to match your moods

you could use high% vodka and distilled water instead of edc

Theworldisfullofgs · 30/05/2018 22:36

Serge lutens
La fille de Berlin

Dafspunk · 30/05/2018 22:39
