I don’t judge people on how they wish to spend their money, but I must say anything with the logo/print across it just looks tacky.

Notmorewashing · 29/05/2018 20:02

Chavtastic

Lifeaback · 29/05/2018 20:05

Screams chav/traveller to me

Jonsey79 · 29/05/2018 20:08

You'd certainly need more money than taste.

SingleDingle · 29/05/2018 20:09

I’m not into logos on babies at all, but that aside, £30 on a dummy! I dread to think how many dummies mine went through. I cannot fathom why anyone would spend that, no matter how well off they are, other than as a blatant status symbol.

And I do think it’s really tacky of HB to even make them.

Ignoring the deeziner overtones, it would have been quite an appropriate slogan on at least one of my babies!

MrsHappyAndMrCool · 29/05/2018 20:12

Spending £30 on a dummy does not mean that someone is “well off” believe me, sometimes it is just an act.

HappyLollipop · 29/05/2018 20:17

Total waste of money though it's pennies considering the price of Hugo boss stuff but well off people wouldn't buy this tacky dummy it's poor people who want look like they have money to have their baby in designer gear that will buy this crap.

MrsHappyAndMrCool · 29/05/2018 20:30

HappyLollipop - Exactly!

starzig · 29/05/2018 20:34

It's only £30 so not exactly breaking the bank, but looks awful more to the point.

MrsPear · 29/05/2018 20:35

I can do see some of h’s relatives buying something like that Grin
Oh and I hate the big logos on clothes too - h buys them for the children but I keep them for ‘special’ occasions - eg when we visit his relatives or he takes us for lunch. I see it as part of a marriage - give and take and compromise.

GreenTulips · 29/05/2018 20:35

Only £30? We generally had about 4 each which they lost in a regular basis!

Says more about the parents

TheClitterati · 29/05/2018 20:37

I would totally judge someone and think they were a bit thick if they bought that.

But I already have an inbuilt negative bias towards dummy users (IKIABU but I can't help it) so I'm not starting from a good place. Grin

JamesBlonde1 · 29/05/2018 20:38

Traveller’s accessory, together with other OTT branded babywear. Gives the exact opposite impression of what they were seeking to achieve (in my opinion).

SingleDingle · 29/05/2018 20:45

And it just shows what a rip off designer items can be. I know “buy cheap, but twice” applies to a lot of things, but what can seriously justify even half that price, compared to any other dummy? So I apply that logic to anything else from HB now. Not that I can afford or like their stuff anyway. Grin

I don't like it. But I'm not ok with people looking down noses and use of the word 'chav'.

I'm not generally uptight but why do you think it's okay to sneer like that essentially at poor people.
