Longchamp Le Pliage backpacks - do you have one, and do you recommend them?

I have a small cross body bag for keys, phone, travel card etc and am looking for a small, lightweight (not leather) backpack for my brolly, lunch, water bottle etc. I like the look of Longchamp's backpacks but before I splash out, I would be interested in owner/user comments! Thank you!

I don't know, but I've been looking at them as well. Wish I could see one irl to assess how good the straps are, and the actual size. I have/had the perfect Kipling one - black, slightly padded straps, small but very accommodating. I foolishly loaned it to my daughter, it disappeared into her room at uni and has never made its way back to me, and they don't make that particular one any more. None of the rest are quite right, so now I'm stalking longchamp. Want it for similar purpose to you.

i have one, the charcoal shade called "gunmetal". i'm 5ft 9 and size 10/12 so its quite mini looking on me but with really long straps! . i have the le pliage "neo" in small in navy which is the one with same coloured straps as nylon bag. this style has a cross body strap.

i thought i'd like a back pack to keep me hands free but its more of a faff to take it off and unzip, i use my navy neo much, much more as i can keep it on my hip and delve/rummage into it! it was £110 for the small compared to the £65 backpack.

I've been checking them out too as I have a ropy back and shoulders and I've realised leather bags are really heavy. I'm not sure if it's big enough for me plus, as woven says, backpacks can be a faff to use and I'd probably still end up using a small cross body for essentials. I also can't decide whether they're really any nicer looking than the nylon bag I bought in the market for under a tenner. So for the time being, I'm keeping my mind open but my wallet closed.

Nah dont do it. Its an overpriced backpack. Yes it folds up, looks nice. But its all open inside (no compartments). Also the straps are thin

you either "get" higher end goods or you don't, like £3,000 for a watch that you could buy another brand for £300. i say that bit i struggled with the longchamp prices - £65 for a nylon bag!

I have one, it is useful for holidays as can be folded up and packed away. However it is very small and you might struggle to get everything you want in it . I tend to wear it over one shoulder too as it is too small to wear comfortably on my back . I honestly don’t think it is worth the money, a le Pliage bag with long handles is much more capacious and useful . Or try my latest TKMaxx find, a fab tote bag called The Gwyneth which is lightweight, holds all I need and is smart ( and cost me £20) ! Make is Day Birger Mikkelsen.

I have one which I use on holidays to carry water , guide books , sun cream etc when I want to be hands - free to go on a sightseeing walk-about . It does the job OK as its light and packs down small and easy to clean . Not sure if I would carry one back home though .

I got one a few years back but have never actually used it! I think it’s better as a concept than in reality.

Decent quality, though.
