Yellow handbag - help please!

I'm treating myself to a new handbag and, as my clothing colour palette is the boring neutral black/white/grey/denim combo, I usually add a colour pop with bag, scarf or shoes.

I'd like a yellow bag, big enough to fit all the usuals, but also changing mat+gear for my 7mo. I usually go for a quite stiff, structured tote style bag but as I'm still on mat leave, and it's looking likely that I might move to a spell of being SAHM, I'd prefer something a little softer and slouchier if you know what I mean?

Quite liked this one, although it is still fairly stiff and I'd prefer one that's closable: https://www.fashionette.co.uk/coach-pebbled-leather-market-tote-flax?adword=EPSM%2FUKKGoogle-Shopping%2FUKENNbGoogleShopping%2FCoach%2FHandbags%2FTote%2F94092&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIyv2C7vee2wIVrZPtCh0UZgMjEAQYASABEgIRYPDDBwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&utmcampaign=Coach&utmmmedium=UK-GoogleShopping&utm_source=PSM

Budget around £300 - anyone seen an alternative that might fit the bill?

Have had a wine or three. Might need to hide the credit card!

That Mulberry will be soft eventually.

New it will be leathery.

Buy it “gently used”!

Can't believe it was May that I last posted and am still debating this bloody yellow bag! Haven't been able to get to a Mulberry shop to have a proper look but was able to get to one in another country today that had the Bayswater tote I mentioned above, but not in the right colour.

Seeing the bag in the flesh (albeit in the wrong colour) confirmed that it isn't for me. Far too structured and stiff for me as a SAHM right now, and I'd prefer something zipped.

Did see the Selby for the first time and liked its slouchiness, its size and its zip. It's also now available in the yellow I've been craving too.

Is it utter madness to spend this amount on what looks like a v casual bag, even if I do love it? Or is it better to consider the 'per use' cost as its casualness means I'll be using it every single day?

Opinions v gratefully received please!

I have a nylon Ecco hobo slouchy bag with an elephant grey base and leather strap from 2015/16 that is lovely and works with all your colours, but it's probably long been sold out.

If you love it, it will make you happy every time you look at it. I say get it.
