Summer trousers for the fat of arse.

Think Kim Kardashian sized bum and thighs and a similar waist...except I really really don’t want to show it off. Been so self conscious of it my whole life.

I need some summer trousers. Just casual daytime. Would those baggy ones that look not dissimilar to pyjamas work for me?

Last year a wore skinny jeans all summer. I cannot repeat that.

TIA

Elasticated/drawstring waists are great for pear shapes so harems are ideal!

Sorry but I steer clear of pants in summer if I can. They are not kind to the large of thigh/bum/hips. At best I try linen palazzo pants (wide legged) with more fitted tops, or gauchos with cinched tunics. Also cigarette pants, but they can be hot and tight. Trouble is, the cut and fabric and length and waist have to be spot on to look good, and unless you have them made to fit it’s unlikely you’ll find them.

I have been known to buy a too-big size on purpose and have them taken in/up by a dressmaker to suit my body. Then I get them replicated in different colours/weights. It can get pricey, but it’s a damn sight better than depressing myself by trudging the high street, being made to feel like a bigger sack of spuds by each pair I try on.

My pants strategy is to have 1 or 2 pairs I know are as good as possible on hand, then concentrate on fabulous statement sandals and necklaces. Or wear skirts! Good luck in your hunt.

Id go for dresses or shorts. Those pyjamas trousers are so unflattering for shapes like ours imo. I wore a few pairs one summer and they were comfy and great but just made me look bigger and frumpy as no tailoring.

Pear shape here too. It's an absolute nightmare. Personally I do leggings with an overdress or tunic style top. I always make sure the top is fitted at the waist and flares out.
I used to want to open a shop for us with wide hips and small waists cause the high street does not cater.

The problem with skirts and shorts is that I have horrendous legs. Covered in varicose veins with big lumps on.

Perhaps I need a dress and skirt thread for the large of arse too...essentially I haven’t bought any clothes for about 6 years so I just really need to sort myself out!

I used to buy the Next drawstring wide legged trousers but last year they seemed to change the material and they felt 'prickly' so I had to bring them back. This year everything seems to be 'super skinny' - unfortunately not flattering to my bum & thighs. I usually wear Capri length cotton leggings & dresses or tunics fromJoe Browns.

I'm more hourglass but still have the wide hips in proportion to waist, I have a pair of next joggers and they are so flattering and comfortable.
