Does anyone use a BOX dye Blonde on their hair with good results?

My hair is really nicely highlighted by a fab hairdresser I’ve had for a decade - it’s in good condition.

She’s now gone on maternity leave (she has her own salon and is a sole worker) and I don’t want to go elsewhere.

Are ANY of the box dyes good? This is the colour my hair is highlighted - pretty merged in now as I’ve been having it done for so long.

No! Don't do it!
I've tried many times and never had good results, plus it ruins your hair.

Hopeful bump as my hair is almost the same colour as yours and I’d like to do it myself at home too. I was wondering if a Majirel dye like 10.13 or 10.31 and a 30 vol developer would work? Does anyone know?

I find it better to do highlights, with the old fashioned cap,
every six weeks or so I will do a slightly different shade,
it looks more natural than an all over colour

mine is box dyed, its naturally dark blonde, although with a fair amount of grey now I'm 47.

I've had many box dye disasters and what works for one won't necessarily work the same for another, but my advice would be go with an ash toned colour, box dyes tend to go heavy with the red and red is the strongest pigment, so as it fades with washing, it will just go redder and redder. Lots like nice and easy but I find they are too strong for me and irritate my scalp. I use Loreal excellence creme in shade light ash blonde. They do a darker one, called ash blonde but that one can look quite solid, there's also a lightest ash blonde which I also sometimes use during the summer.

I did a thread years ago with reviews of lots of box dye colours, I can't remember what my user name was back then but will have a search and see if I can fine it and post a link.

The Jerome Russel B Blonde highlighting kit is fab, would highly recommend!
