But want to return the item it came with?

I really like the free bag that came with a sezanne top I just bought, but not so much the top Blush

Do I have to send it back??

If it was an unexpected freebie that they sent you, then I see it as no strings. However, if it was a 'buy this/get that' offer I would (and have) sent it back.

I'd expect them to insist on the bag being returned if you returned the top (it usually says that in the small print). The bag isn't a freebie - it's only free if you buy the top.

Will check the small print, thanks.

It was an unexpected freebie, so my gut feel it is a no strings thing. It’s only a little canvas tote but those things are useful!

It's a conditional gift so officially you should send it back. However, I've been in a similar position in the past and I'd emailed CS about it, asking if I could purchase it somehow and they were happy enough to let me keep it without any cost.
