i have heard of such things. injections you get into fatty McFatspots... to make the fat melt and you crap it out as waste... takes a few weeks... costs a fair bit no doubt... anyone know anything about any of this?

i am exercising and eating properly and all that gumf but am also impatient and have a pocket of fat on belly and lovehandles or muffin tops or whatever they call it these days and am up for an easy shortcut.

of course, i wouldnt dream of doing this sort of thing without first discussing and getting approval from MN..

My hairdresser had this done, though in Spain (she's Spanish), and it worked a treat. How safe, licenced or UK-available these are though I couldn't tell you!

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 12:59

ooh rabbit... thats exciting. my first personal recommendation!

sounds like bollocks - how do you get the fat out of the fat cells into the intestines to be crapped out? Surely it would drain into blood stream or lymphatic system and need to be cleaned out by liver or kidneys - sounds like a recipe for livr or kidney failure to me (assuming it does exist and indeed work).

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 13:00

albeit 3rd hand and from a complete stranger and not about a particular practitioner... but the concept is now validated

Have to say though that yes, they did work (assuming it was only the injections, she's not a close personal see-each-other-every-week type friend of mine) but she is now back to her original size...so it would appear that a healthy dose of skepticism is right as they're not a long term "fix"

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 13:03

Sorry Nappies - am an accoutant, comes with the territory. I am from the school of "If it sounds to good to be true, then it is"

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 13:04

and besides - you won;t really appreciate the result if you don;t work at it...

rabbitrabbit · 17/05/2007 13:05

I think it's called Mesotherapy

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 13:06

ah.
you are probably right.
but, otoh, i have had many an experience which was too good to be true but was so nonetheless...

suejonezwillsoonbeKewcumber · 17/05/2007 13:07

no rabbit, its called "Bollocks"

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 13:07

"and besides - you won;t really appreciate the result if you don;t work at it..."

Just wondering how many injections you can have in one go. There's every danger I'll look like a pin cushion How often can you have it done. Can I still eat cake? So many questions...where's the dotted line?

NappiesGalore · 17/05/2007 13:11

oh god rabbit, dont make it sound like this is my dream... my dreams are far more worthy than this
