Buying less but better quality

Has anybody here switched from fast fashion to more considered better quality purchases? Have you found you spend less now than you did? I'm trying to kick the habit of bulk buying fast fashion items but it's tough!

Completely believe in this - all my work clothes are cue, Australian made and designed. Yes they are expensive, but quality is great. I'd rather have 5 dresses I love. Than 50 I feel mediocre about. Have the odd bit of fashion and buy sportswear (which is never ethically produced) - but try as hard as I can to buy quality.

@Onthewrongsideof30 there is ethically-produced sportswear:

Interesting thread.
As I've got older I do buy less , I'm looking for quality over quantity. I have clothes in my wardrobe that are 10 years old (not many though)

I really don't like the compulsive greed in buying , sales are a good example . I see people picking things up "Oh its only £5/£10" .
If you would pay full price then in the Sale its a bargain, but to buy it just because "its only £5" .......well it might just be a waste of £5.

I don't go into TkMaxx , don;t like the set up.

And I don't buy clothes to cheer myself up because when I wear it , it would just remind me how grim I was . (That's why chocolate was invented Grin )
