What to dress 4 month old in heat

We've booked a holiday to the canaries in July and bubs will be just over 4 months old. I've read not to put suncream on her until she's 6 months but wanted to take her in the pool. I've bought a sun protection swim suit for her and swim hat but will this be enough ?

Does the suit cover her whole body? Tbh a four month old is better off keeping as cool as possible and out of the sun. A pool in full sun isn't going to add anything to her experience. Do you have older children there with you? If not I would keep her out of the sun entirely for the majority of the day. shes likely to find it very hot if she's been born in the uk.

July in the Cannaries is likely to be very hot so I would suggest loose cotton clothes but keep her in the shade during the day. She’ll quickly become very uncomfortable if she gets hot.

Hello :) I bought my little girl the t shirt and joggers from gigil.com and its very light weight and good for layering up! (also organic so better for her skin)

It's worth keeping her as covered as possible if she's too young for suncream so a swimming costume might not be enough! SOUZU do great little wetsuits which offer more coverage: souzu.co.uk/collections/baby-swimwear

Take her into the pool after 4pm. The water will be warmer and she won't be in the sun. I wouldn't take a 4 month into the sun after 11am and before 4pm. Try and get light cotton vests. Some of the vests you get in packs are often thick and can make babies very hot and uncomfortable. I used a toweling liner for the pram/car seat when mine were babies. It keeps them cooler too.
