What shorts do you wear if you're short and 14/16?

I wore some size 16 next boy shorts today - they're from last summer and I've lost weight... they're massive and very unflattering.

Any recommendations please?

I'm a size 12 and 5ft 1 and shorts look horrendous on me. I think dresses are far more flattering.

I wear city shorts - am a pear shaped 12/14 with fat legs. Anyone who tells me to stop can just fuck right the hell off. They are so, so comfortable in this heat.

I'm a size 12 and 5ft nothing and really struggling to wear flattering clothes that keep me cool in this weather (mid 50s). Where does everyone shop? It's so much easier in the winter (and now wishing I'd lost some weight over the winter).

I wear shorts and look fine in them, I like linen or similar and hate the long granny to the knee ones as always think they make people look stumpy. I also think loads of people size uk 12/14 look amazing in shorts and don’t get the comment above!

As come posters do say maybe it depends on your height and build and not just your dress size.

Op could wear linen trousers instead so that you’re not hot in jeans?

I think it depends on body shape..I'm 5.7 size 14 and have ok legs & bottom, flat fronted shorts 3/4 down my thighs look good but floaty styles make me look round.

Fedup. ..I'm over 50 and shop in m&s house of fraser & the like for daily wear..next new look etc clothes imo look bad on me as I think the quality isn't best. I prefer to pay a bit more and have less. Dresses I get from coast hobbs phase 8 and JL. Shoes from shoeaholics dune & schuh

I’m 48 size 14 and wear just above the knee shorts and give no fucks, if you feel confident and want to wear shorts then do so🤸‍♀️
