Struggling to buy clothes for Bell body shape aka short pear

Teenage daughter only 5ft/1 a size 12 around shoulders and bust then a 14 around stomach, bum and thighs also she has low muscle tone (disabled Downs) so her stomach really sticks out

Im trying really hard to buy clothes that flatter but I’m struggling with what works (it took 40 years to suss my 5ft7 hourglass)

I’ve looked online but the problem I have is her shape lends itself to a grown up wardrobe (a knee length skater dress is the most flattering thing I can put her in) but I want her to be reasonably trendy and fit in with her peers

As I can’t kidnap Trinny I’m hoping you lovely people will have ideas right now my rule book is;

No big necks
Need sleeves
Can only be clingy at bust
Dark stretchy jeggings are the only bottoms I have success with so far
Tops can’t be too long due to her height

The easiest thing that works is a std button down shirt and jeggings which is an acceptable outfit for a teenager with decent trainers but I think I might be missing out on other options

This is my heighr and shape (minus muscular thighs). My c-section overhang left me with a protruding stomach too, yet I have tiny shoulders so am a 10/12 top 14/16 bottom.

I'm far from a teenager but this is what works:

Elasticated waistband. Roman stretchy trousers; crop and ankle grazers work well. If you pair with a loner trendy top they won't feel grown up.

A-line is your friend. A-line skirts (but avoid pleats and too much material). Agree skater dresses work very well.

Have you tried h&m? I buy lots of dresses from there that conceal. Wrap dresses also work well but may be too grown up?

Smock type tops also work with leggings. I've had success with these over the years despite only being 5ft1 and 3/4.
If you opt for a lower neckline (appreciate she's a teen) with a vest top underneath this will distract from other areas.

Floaty material works well as you can't tell what's fabric or body (those last tips were from Trinny!) Invest in big knickers is my other tip!

If you look at normal or long length crop trousers they sometimes sit well as full length on shorter legs

You'll already know to avoid trousers with fitted waistbands, pencil skirts and thin material.

Petite maxis also look nice teamed with a trendy denim.

Good luck!

These are the trousers. They come in around 30 colours. These are crop but if you buy their ankle grazers they come full length (sorry, no idea if a teen will wear these as I have 12 year old boys who live in joggers) Grin

Oh jeans...
Try Dorothy Perkins super soft jeggings. Fit comfortably with higher waistband and they come in petite.
