Right, own up. Who of you recommended Isle of Paradise tanning water?

Here I am, soaking in the bath with a body brush trying to look a bit less like an orange and white zebra. I look awful (laughing to myself)

40 odd years as a pale skinned woman who has tried and tested many a self tan. I didn’t like the way it went on, even the spray cap was tricky but I’m not one to judge even though it cost £18. Followed the instructions.....

This morning I scared the dog. Any suggestions for removing quicker? Reluctant to buy their own brand removing liquid (perhaps that was a sign?)

Anyway, if you see a woman in full winter kit on one of the hottest BH weekends in ages, give me a wave Smile

Sorry, had to laugh I have had a similar self tanning experience. Maybe a scrub x

PingPongBat · 05/05/2018 11:23

Oh god, so glad I didn't buy this... I was tempted by the MNers who recommended it, but then read the reviews on Boots etc & decided not to risk it. My pale skin seems to be resistant to any form of fake tan & I can't be doing with hours of exfoliating & moisturising etc. I'm using This Works gradual tan which (so far) seems not orange or streaky. I'm only putting it on every other day & it seems to be the best I've tried yet. My bathroom cupboard is a graveyard of abandoned self-tan products Sad

Oh dear, I have horrible memories of scrubbing at streaky orange tan. I had a google and these removers came up - www.boots.com/bondi-sands-self-tan-eraser-200ml-10231535
and - www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B075RX211B/ref=mp_s_a_1_1_a_it?ref=plSrch&keywords=false+tan+remover&dpPl=1&dpID=51NVmfOuVrL&tag=mumsnetforum-21&ie=UTF8&qid=1525516269&sr=8-1

Good luck OP

Omg my friend had the same problem with that stuff :') maybe try the bondi sands remover its meant to be good, would recommend the bondi sands gradual lotion (blue bottle) for foolproof natural glow its my new fave.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 05/05/2018 11:54

Thanks, I do really like the Bondi sands blue bottle as well so will try their remover. I’m just a sucker for trying a new product. Got to laugh.

Isle of Paradise customer service at its worst! Tanning water arrived and as I tried to use for the first time discovered the nozzle is faulty and doesn’t press and spray properly. Contacted through their website, no response! Decided to contact on FB messenger and eventually got a response and that they would send me a new nozzle 27/02. 11/03 and still no sign of it so messages again to be told it was sent 1st class on 01/03. Obviously I haven’t got it so asked for it to be re-sent. Got a snotty email back advising once something is sent by courier then it’s out of their control (fantastic!), but as a ‘gesture of goodwill’ they’ll send another. If you look at their reviews there are many saying how good the product is but also many saying the packaging is not fit for purpose and people saying they never received goods. We can’t all be wrong now can we!! I would dodge this company. I was trialling it for my wedding tan and would have bought more for my bridemaids. Not anymore.

Deathraystare · 13/03/2019 15:16

Oh Dear natural Blonde - I know how you feel!

I got a tanning water (thought it would be better than a lotion- not the one you got though) Yep orange. It was one advertised a lot on QVC. I took it all in - smells like raspberries, goes on easily, no streaking, you don't get the fake tan smell etc etc. You do hours later when your body warms up. Had a lot of streaks too.

I have Sally Hansen airspray for legs but am too scared to use it!

Jeff82 · 13/03/2019 17:38

I actually managed (with difficulty) to pump enough out to do my legs and it was a pretty good result. The water is hard to use though and you have to be extra careful not to miss anywhere. It’s not so much the product as the faulty nozzle and their dreadful customer service. Like people say it’s not the problem necessarily, but how you resolve it that matters. Unfortunately IOP haven’t stepped up here, and I’m another unhappy customer that won’t be repeating my order!

Jeff82 · 13/03/2019 17:40

Oh sorry I should add I’ve just used the skinny tan coconut mist with their mit over 2 days (leaving for 4 hrs each time) and have got a beautiful natural looking tan. Was so easy to apply with the mit as well. Spray directly onto it and rub in circular motions.. 3 mins and I was done! No stickiness, and the smell really wasn’t bad.

Deathraystare · 13/03/2019 17:50

Are the mitts ok though? Whenever I use a mitt it seems to seep through so not really helping and I look positively jaundiced on my hands!

Greyhound22 · 13/03/2019 17:58

gingerly raises hand

I've used it for years and never had a problem. I'm a fake tan idiot too.

Sos 😬
