Good quality but stylish shoes ?

Please recommend me a brand of shoe that is known for its quality but stylish as well and not in the designer price range. I used to buy Dune shoes a lot (i know, not exactly quality) but now find them just too high and the heels to thin. Then tried KG for a while but noticing the quality is getting cheaper and cheaper and heels to high and thin also. I decided to look into LK Bennet and though they are very good quality, find most of their styles too mumsy. Hobbs too same problem, too mumsy, although i was lucky last yr and managed to get a really nice pair in the sales.

I cannot go near the high street stores. RI, the heels are crazy and not sturdy enough. I've twisted my ankle before and though its healed, its very delicate, if you know what i mean. Next shoes just hurt my feet like hell.

I'm looking for a brand that does:
Stylish - not just courts
Not too high, can wear 4 inches if its got a platform in front.
Don't mind if it costs up to £120 because i'll wait for the sales.Wink

for everyday wear I use TK Maxx a lot.

I think Aldo shoes are reasonable but “stylish” is subjective!

The market needs a cheaper version of Russell and Bromley.

I think you're going to have to define what you mean by stylish to get more replies! It's a very subjective word and can also depend on your lifestyle.

Do you work? In an office, at home, outdoors?
Do you walk a lot?
Do you want them for daywear and/or evening wear?
What clothes do you favour? Jeans, Trousers, Skirts? Cropped, wide leg, skinny?

Russell and Bromley are great quality and would be around £120 in the sales. Their brogues and loafers are quality classics repeated annually and they have a whole host of sandals, espadrilles, wedges.

GH Bass do good quality brogues and loafers for around £140, you'd have to buy online or search local independents for a stockist.

Grenson is another classic quality brand, again if you like brogues, loafers, or chunkier shoes. Might get them from independent shops for your budget in the sales.

For more feminine style like pumps, slip ons, I'd try Hobbs or Jigsaw.

@Member re: R&B I couldn't agree with you more.

@MrsMaria: I've got the brogues and loafers and day to day work shoes covered. What i'm having difficulty with is going out evening shoes that for dinners, cocktails, weddings etc like you said, more feminine shoes.

Aah, evening shoes for fairly formal and dressy social events - very specific requirement then not at all mentioned in the OP!

Well I'd still suggest Hobbs or Jigsaw, also Whistles. Also Sam Edelman and Ash and J Crew.

See by Chloe are quite pricey but I've seen them knocked down in sales.

WinnersClub · 02/05/2018 17:47

sorry MrsMaria, that was my definition of 'stylish'Grin

I really like LKBennett shoes, well padded & soft leather I find them really comfortable.

HundredMilesAnHour · 02/05/2018 21:13

I'll second the Sam Edelman recommendation. They're really good quality, fit well and actually last. They have a cheaper diffusion range called Circus

RainySeptember · 02/05/2018 21:19

Russel & Bromley, Michael Kors, LKBennet, Mint Velvet

emsyj37 · 02/05/2018 21:20

Carvela, Kurt Geiger, Nine West. I would like to buy a pair of the Rachel Simpson 'Ginger' sandals even tho they are meant to be wedding shoes.
Office? Schuh?

emsyj37 · 02/05/2018 21:20

Oh and check out shoeaholics.com for end of season cheap styles.

dontcallmelen · 02/05/2018 21:22

Yy Nine West, forgot about them I have some quite high heels from them & can wear them all night.

uberqueen · 02/05/2018 21:25

Nothing beats Nine West IMO

GrannyGrissle · 02/05/2018 21:35

Look on Brand Alley but don't blame me if you end up buying more than one pair Grin

goose1964 · 03/05/2018 11:10

I have a lovely pair of silvery grey open toed sandals from Monsoon, they've been to two weddings and the odd meal out ( mainly because I forgot I have then until the other day)

goose1964 · 03/05/2018 11:18

And in relation to a pp don't bother with shoeaholics if you have wide feet , all the brands are for narrow to normal feet

WinnersClub · 03/05/2018 12:28

Thanks all. I'm already a Shoeaholic and a brand Alley girl Smile. I'm finding more and more with Shoeaholic you get what you pay for basically. My most comfortable heels are also Nine West, good solid heel, no wobbling about at the ankle unlike KG. I didn't know Mint velvet did shoes. I think i'll look into Sam Edelman as well.
