I’m looking for some plain maxi skirts, without any slits or splits preferably not in a jersey fabric. Wanted something for either smart or casual wear. I also am not looking for anything pleated or striped.

TIA Smile

Sleeves or sleeveless?

LunaDeet · 01/05/2018 20:44

Any good? What price range?

RainySeptember · 01/05/2018 22:30

Think that one's a jersey fabric sadly.

Agree we need budget.

NachoFries · 02/05/2018 02:35

Don’t really have a budget but perhaps anything that is up to £50 would be fine. If need be, can spend a little bit more if necessary.

I am pear shaped so any help or advice in regards to maxi skirts and what to wear with for a smart look would be much appreciated.

I’ve found with jersey skirts that if they had lining underneath, it’s not too bad but it’s difficult to tell when shopping online as it’s not always mentioned in the product description.

You could buy a half slip from matalan to wear as a lining underneath skirts. Try m and s

You need somewhere like Jigsaw, and you need to pay a bit more I think.

I got the best maxi ever last summer from there, navy silk mix, looks like the finest spun silk/linen mix somehow. It looks expensive. It's my favourite item of clothing and I scour ebay to buy more of them in case something terrible happens to it!

I’m pretty sure my local Sainsburys has long black maxi skirts in a jersey fabric for about £15, no split or anything.

Are you in London? There's a place in East Dulwich that has nice ones in silk.

Serious question - how do you not kill yourself/flash wearing one of these? I either tangle my legs in the fabric or step on the hem when sitting down and flash everyone when I get up quickly (on the tube Blush)
