If you were going to an outdoor gig at this time of year what would you wear?

Totally out of my comfort zone on this. I am mid-forties, short and rotund.

I usually live in jeggings and tunics or skinny jeans and loose sweaters.
I think the jacket/coat layer is my biggest issue. Everything I have is a bit dated.

Please help.

What you usually wear sounds fine. I'd add long boots if the weather stays this cold and wet, a thick long scarf/wrap and a longish waterproof coat - Seasalt or Superdry. Make sure you have layers on so if the sun does suddenly come out you can layer down to a tee shirt or thin tunic.

What's the gig?

this sort of thing as top layer?

Wellies or robust walking boots. Woollen tights under jeans. Thermal t-shirt under cashmere jumper under rain coat. Take gloves, scarf and hat. I'm a pessimist!

For Glastonbury I wear cut off jeans (pockets very handy) with tights under, wellies with long/welly socks (if it turns out to be lovely, whip off tights but welly socks will prevent wellyrub), a few light layers, a proper waterproof coat with hood that covers my arse, a big scarf to wrap up in if cold but to sit on if warm. Rucksack with sunglasses, beanie, gloves, floppy sun hat, pack of travel wetwipes and tissues if outside loos for all eventualities - it can be beautifully sunny then drop really cold if sky clear and depends how much dancing you're doing Smile to keep warm. If you can get away with hipflask of rum, all the better.

Thanks for the replies. It's just a small local music festival. Just a one day/night event.

Interesting that people are really recommending lots of warm layers! I was being optimistic in thinking of jeans, a nice shirt and a waterproof jacket. Grin

I like the Seasalt and Superdry coats but a bit out of my budget unfortunately.

Wellies/waterproof boots and waterproof coat with warm layers underneath, of its anything like this weekend’s weather.

OP , Decathlon is much cheaper than Seasalt and Superdry and they have nice waterproof top layers. Good quality too. I buy all my sporty stuff from them.
