Davines smoothing shampoo and conditioner , transformed my hair!

Ihatebuildabear · 29/04/2018 08:18

Thank you. Where do you get it from?

I use Shea Moisture or Cantu shampoo and conditioner. Makes my curls shiny and soft and it doesn’t go frizzy if the rain anymore!

Curly hair....avoid sls
You'll also discover your hair needs washed less often

Ihatebuildabear · 29/04/2018 08:24

Just recommended on another thread, Macadamia has changed my life (and my hair, and dd's)

I was whinging about the frizz on top of my head and a colleague recommended it, I'll never change, it's amazing.

I get the ginormous litre containers from allbeauty as they work out cheaper. The masque is phenomenal and makes you realise how crapola the supermarket-brand masques actually are in comparison.

sls is sodium lauryl sulphate, what makes detergents foam, basically, strips hair/skin of moisture.

inappropriateraspberry · 29/04/2018 08:32

Sls - sodium Laureth sulfates. Google the curly girl method. I'm just starting to do this after years of having 'straight' hair, I'm embracing my wavy/curly locks.

I have to use a dandruff shampoo so I use T-gel (pale yellow) shampoo/conditioner, Redken frizz dismiss conditioner (when I can afford it) or Aldi purple de-frizz conditioner (when I can't). I also use a Redken ph bonder that my hairdresser uses when I go there - it is amazing! You only need to do it now and then, so I sometimes use it on a Sunday or when I dye my hair at home. And yes, curlygirl website's great for tips and tricks - I use a pillowcase to dry my hair and it makes a massive difference! :D

Recent convert to cantu products, hairs never been in better condition. I buy from a local store but you can also get from amazon

Ihatebuildabear · 29/04/2018 08:35

Missmorkan could you please put a link to the product you use

OP just google Shea Moisture and find one that fits with your hair. Mine is fine and frizzy but you might want one better for thicker hair if that’s what you have. I really love the Cantu Curl Activator Cream as a leave in or to apply to slightly wet hair in between washes.

Sabulous · 29/04/2018 08:49

I use a mixture of things:
Devacurl no poo cleanser as my shampoo, and I don't use it for every wash. www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000NE6QP6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_4Dx5AbTZZ73J8?tag=mumsnetforum-21
Palmer's Shea butter conditioner www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KCPLO76/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_EFx5AbMPRQ2H1?tag=mumsnetforum-21

Palmer's also have and oil serum and a curl creaming used afterwards, as well as Tigi curls rock amplifier.

Also very important to not use a towel on your hair, use a cotton t-shirt. And get yourself a silk pillowcase. These have made such a difference to my curls.

Aridane · 29/04/2018 09:10

I second the Macadamia natural oil products, particularly the masque

Ihatebuildabear · 29/04/2018 09:24

Thank you. I looked on Amazon at the hair masks and there are loads of different ones?

Your hair sounds like mine OP. I use Aveda Damage Remedy shampoo, conditioner and treatment and only wash it once a week. My hair is in great condition now.
