Alternative to Clinique?

I've worn Clinique make up for years.
Need to try something less expensive. Can anyone recommend a brand? I'm fine with my eyes and lips but really struggle with my skin- any tricks for picking right foundation for my skin? I've always had advice from reps on Clinique stand in the shops but some of the less expensive brands don't have an actual person you can speak to. Help please?

I’ve just got my first Clinique foundation, the concealer one (conceal and perfect?). I am a serial foundation trier and I’ve not come across anything like that one. I’ve tried a LOT of inexpensive and expensive ones and honestly I think foundation is the one thing you should spend money on. The shade ranges are so much better in the More expensive ones, as in the undertones/choices are better. I think if you get your base right you’ll look right, so I spend on foundation and save on just about everything else.

If you have oily or normal skin, the Maybelline matte and poreless has a lot of shades to choose from in Superdrug’s big stores (not other stores that stock it it seems ) and is a great foundation. Also I’d recommend Kiko Milano which also has great shade ranges.

Use Findation.com and you can get pretty good matches - i have bought the shades recommended on there without trying them and got good matches on the whole.
