Please help! What’s similar but not bank-breaking? I don’t wear much makeup and I’m surprised how much this has knocked me for six!

I am not a makeuppy person. I have no clue what is a good/rip-off/ethical/cloggy etc brand.

Please take pity and help me out here!

Kiko do a good mineral powder one

I use Lily Lilo as recommended here on MN before. I prefer the mineral powder foundations too. Lily Lilo do lots of colours and sample pots for £1.99 I think so you can try before you buy, the sample pots even last a while! I have tried other brands including Bare Minerals which is more expensive but not as good. I have just re-ordered a new pot and it arrived the next day! Have a look on their website....

Another shoutout for Lily Lolo here, the fact you can buy sample pots for a couple of pounds means you really can't go wrong!

Thanks v much. I’ve never heard of either of them so will look them up and get some testers.

Do you normally just get from Amazon?

Lily Lolo is great. Been using it for years. I really like their finishing powders to set it too. I use the translucent silk one as my skin needs it at the moment, the translucent matte is brill for shine/greasier skin.

GOSH mineral foundation is good. It's £10 in Superdrug. Gives a lovely gooey effect

tinyradish · 20/04/2018 20:17

I also came on to reccommend lily lolo :)

The gosh one is good actually, but the shades aren't great & the ingredients not as good as ll.

ajandjjmum · 20/04/2018 20:20

Same happened to me with Clarins. I was able to buy 7 lots online - currently working my way through the second.

Might be worth a shot, although it obviously will only delay the inevitable!

Polly1977 · 20/04/2018 22:30

You can prob get it on eBay. I still buy a body shop powder that was discontinued 10 yrs ago!!

BlancheM · 20/04/2018 23:06

Check B&M for stock

fluffygreenmonsterhoody · 24/04/2018 20:09

Thanks everyone, I’ve ordered some samples so will take it from here.
Hurray for MN!

GOSH is good, and often on promotion at Superdrug. Sadly I can’t wear it because I’m pale and even the lightest one is way too dark for me - it only comes in four different shades. I’ve gone back to Lily Lolo, it’s more expensive but there’s a good choice of shades.
