It's here! The sun is here!

But I burn really easily. I'm the colour of milk, and whilst i dont sunbathe, I spend a bit of time outside and so am looking for a SPF that:

  • I can wear with or without makeup
  • high factor - pref 30 or over
  • doesn't pill
  • isn't tinted
  • won't make me look even ghostlier than usual
  • isn't greasy and won't make me spotty
  • isn't too £££ so I can afford to wear it until Sept ish.

I've had the Biore and liked it, and also the Hada Labo, but have read that the Biore one has changed formulations? Any recommendations? I'm fine with alcohol on my skin, I think.

Ultra sun 50 for me, for ultra sensitive.

BagelGoesWalking · 22/04/2018 09:44

Can I add another one? This has been recommended by a few different ppl online. It seems that you have to buy via Amazon. It's very cheap and also recommended for sensitive skin.

Blimey Bagel that's cheap! Have you tried it?

I use Ultrasun sensitive 30 then put on It cosmetics factor 50 CC/foundation . When that's all settled, I pop on a quick brush of Jane Iredale's 30 powder sunscreen.

I do this all year round.

GeorgeTheHippo · 22/04/2018 12:06

I find La Roche Posay Anthelios has a white cast to it. I wish I'd never bought it.

BagelGoesWalking · 22/04/2018 12:17

TheSpottedZebra Just ordered the 50 spf this morning! The various ppl who recommended it obviously seemed to like it, hopefully it's not too heavy or greasy. Worst case it will do for legs and arms. I want to order an Asian sunscreen, but am being completely indecisive about which one, leaning towards Missha (but that will take a couple of weeks to arrive anyway).

Queenoftheblitz · 22/04/2018 14:06

I've recently started 50spf Sunsense from Amazon on the back of Mn recomendation and am very pleased with it.

LamppostInWinter · 22/04/2018 14:27

I use Altruist from amazon! It's amazing. Not thick or gloopy, doesn't leave a white cast and sits beautifully under makeup. I have sensitive combination skin and am eczema prone and it doesn't cause me any issues whatsoever.

LikeSilver · 22/04/2018 14:32

I also quite like the Boots Soltan Once. I find it takes a little while to dry so I tend to put it on first thing and then do my makeup after breakfast. Ultrasun dried a lot quicker but I find the smell a bit grim.

CallarMorvern · 22/04/2018 15:02

I use this, it's lovely, very inexpensive, not chalky.

This?
It is a little 'thick'

ambre solaire is good and only lightly smelly, no horrible fake coconut. dont trust facial sunscreens in ickle cute pots, they are designed for ladies who lurch from office to restau rant and arent outside for more than seconds. buy real sunscreen.

Ukelou · 22/04/2018 17:26

I aldo use the one bagel recommended really really good cheap but effective. I am very pale with skin that breaks out quite easily use everyday skin looks good and even after a whole day in the sun no redness. I also like the ethos behind the brand

Ukelou · 22/04/2018 17:26

Sorry should have added sits lovely under make up as well.

thehairyhog · 22/04/2018 17:35

Love love love La Roche Posay Anthelios! So light.

Loveatthefiveanddime · 22/04/2018 17:46

P:rem is good so far. I use it instead of a moisturiser as I think I remember reading it has skincare elements to it.

After it has dried off, I do still shine, but it is a dry shine and I put my makeup on as normal and it is invisible with no piling. If I don't want to wear make-up a light dusting of powder makes me look completely natural.

Loveatthefiveanddime · 22/04/2018 17:47

I have tried the Altruist but have relegated that to the children as it is super shiny and never really dried off. It didn't sting me, so I didn't hate it, but I don't think it is aesthetically clever enough for what you want. It felt like regular suncream to me.

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay · 22/04/2018 17:50

La Roche Possay XL Anthel...... can’t remember full name.

It’s great. I am super greasy and was worried using an spf and a moisturiser would make me look awful and breakout but it hasn’t at all. A little goes a long way as well.

MrsJamin · 22/04/2018 20:14

Weird, I don't find Altruist shiny at all. It's really absorbant and just makes my skin soft. I use the factor 50 one. It's such good value and I find the fact that it is designed by a skin cancer doctor in the UK very reassuring.
